o7,
I am experiencing this annyoing capacitor bug on my Alienware m17x with dual GTX 280M. After a while playing the cap is not showing up correctly, drains, refills ... behaves totally abnormal.
I found this post: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=298545
Additionally: the longer I stay afk the higher the chance is to be stucked by a "session change" when trying to jump. After filing a bug report, getting some advice, sending results from DxDiag, PingPlotter and LogServer I did some more tests.
Finally I come to the suspicion that this is eventually a problem with EVE on computers using combined gfx cards. I turned off my dual GTX 280M and made a test with the onboard Geforce 9400 chip and the problem will not appear. CCP is informed about this and I hope they will investigate and try to fix it.
Are there any more users with Alienware m17x dual gfx setup or other computers with SLI technology experiencing the same issue? Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. StevieSG |

I had the problem that you describe and others (like crashs/freezes).
For what I could find it is SLI related.
I had a NVIDIA 9800GX2 (that is, basically, two boards working in SLI) and then changed to a NVIDIA 2600GX and all the problems disappear.

Is it overclocked? Are you using WLAN? Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. StevieSG |

Using Alienware M17x with dual GTX280M and don't have the problem. Didn't have it with Vista64 <spit>, don't have it with Win7 64
Win7 does (or seemed to until last week) have a lot more crashes - seemed to be related to a specific module effect.
The spread spectrum effect that caused the (ancient) issue is not a factor on the chipset in the Alienware M17x.

So any ideas what could be else the reason?

I guess that just CCP can answer this question. I run out of ideas now. Could this effect finally caused by a 64bit system? Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. StevieSG |

I am running EVE now as usual for over one hour and do not experiencing this bug ... atm.
What I changed in DISPLAY SETUP: PRESENT INTERVAL: Interval Immediate
Before that it was set to: Interval One.
Still testing and I will update this thread. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. StevieSG |

After more tests I figured out that the capacitor bug is still present but not that extreme. It behaves different now. But I did not experience the "session change" problem. I have no idea what's going on and what's the real reason for this bug what happens just on specific machines.
