Hello there,
pls install a switch to turn off the new space-voice-sounds. The sound was good in Apocrypha.

Yes it is but the sound is a bit to much, shocked the hell out of me when I arrived at a gate and a group of rats warped in and the 'comm' started chattering away.
It can be turned down in the settings but it really needs adjusting down a bit in stations and the like where one would spend a long time, prehaps a timer to cut it off and on again say every 5 minutes or so.

I think a good idea would be to add a "Com Chatter" slider to the audio window. The same with "Space Station Ambience". This way, you can experience certain sounds higher than others, to each individual's liking.
I would love better audio options. Engine levels, turret levels, individual voice chat levels (along with a mute person option).

I agree. For me, the chatter was so loud I was afraid it would blow my speakers. I had to hit the mute button. It completely drowned out everything else. Even worse, it never stopped, not even after the battle was over and I docked. Turning down the world volume also turns down all the other background sounds - may as well just mute it. Either fix it, get rid of it, or make it optional. |

These new sounds are worse if you have a surround sound speaker setup with a high definition audio chipset. Imprisonment in a room with an aluminum concave ceiling and walls surfaced by blackboards with 30 people persistently scratching on them is an equivalent form of audio annoyance

Come on, the sound ain't so bad, you just need to balance your levels. Plus sounds should be on only if you play solo. In fleet you should set it way down or even kill it.
Alternatives to sound in EVE? Zappa Radio, EVE Radio, SI Radio, or any other stream you care to think about. ____________________

I agree. The chatter at gates was INCREDIBLY annoying to me. Might not be so bad if it was very faint, but I almost want it gone all together.

We did turn down the volume of the chatter sounds quite a lot recently and did not have any internal complaints since then. Is this still happening with the most recent Singularity version?

Dare I ask why these new sounds are still present or were ever perceived to be a great feature to add to the game at all?
They don't generally serve a beneficial purpose but rather annoy the heck out of the highsec populace. These sounds are not nearly as likely to annoy the majority of nullsec player base as highsec due to the sound being triggered by every single npc police and customs agent at every highsec warp gate. As well due to highsec missioners being in more frequent proximity of npc ships triggering the effect I predict the coming wave of complaints.
Dare I also say that if there was some intention to drive more players into nullsec these chatter sounds would either do the job nicely or have me finding a less annoying way to spend my time gaming. In the time i've been playing eve the only interest i've ever had in exploring nullsec was on the test server. Annoying your subscribers to the point where they feel the need to get out of dodge to escape sound effect annoyance likely would not be a benefit for ccp

i like the less chatter can always turn sounds off to Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Oh jeez that's a great idea for those of us who actually enjoy listening to sound in games.
CCP, please stop giving us more reasons to despise your awful sound engine. It still hasn't been fixed from the last monumental screwup (basically everything that was done in apocrypha) and it's gettin real tiring.
I don't even know what particular noise this thread is talking about, but please make it an option, that's my advice to you. Stop forcing terrible sound changes on us. There's a damn good reason almost nobody listens to sound in EVE and it isn't because they're deaf
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

CCP add annoying sound. Players tell ccp they want control over new annoying sound. CCP turns sound down and asks if it's ok now. People wonder what art of "give us more control" CCP does not understand. Players tell ccp they want control over new annoying sound again, pointing out CCP did what it though it should rather than what it was requested to do.
Granted that's an over simplification, and there are technical/time constraints, but it's essentially how this plays out. ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

Motive detected. Nerfing L4 mission income by deterrence (and 11% income tax) and drive people insane (or into 0.0 where there are less/none agents) - i.e. make the pleebs / masses do what they are told. Corrupt totalitarian regimes around the world would be proud.
Problems: Mute button. Disabling sound. Turning speakers off.

I would like to have some control over the noise i am hearing. Apparently it is a all or nothing setting. Off it is (/stays). Which is a pity...
