I though that understand that its 16 missions of the same level with the same corp until a story line.
I'm thinking now (from very limited data.. just one or two storylines sense thinking about it more closely without perfect tally sheets) that it might be 16 missions of a certain level with corporations in the same FACTION.
Am I right about that?

Thanks , I thought I was right on that.
Going for faction and also being forced into doing a bunch of deliveries for research corp agents.. I figured that it was worthwhile checking the agents of different corps delivery stations to see if there was an easy mission to get on the way back . The isk's aren't worth it on the low levels , nor is standing with a lot of the corps. but any shortcut to faction standing helps.

Here's my experience.
I have a char with the standings to run L4 missions with Gal, Amarr and Min.
I will grab a mission wherever I am from whichever faction's agent is handy. Mix into this 5 R&D agent in two different factions. Every 16 missions I get offered a storyline, period. Not every 16 missions with a certain faction or a certain corp.
So my long way of saying that all you really need is to be running missions of the same level. No worries about faction, corp or type of agent.

Maybe you are just trolling (given the name), but you are wrong in every way. I have at several points (including within the last week) carefully tracked my number of missions across corps and factions (Gal and Mim) and I am 100% certain it is a combination of Faction and Level specific.

No troll.
I'm pretty sure about this.
But as I just finished a storyline I will start a count just to be certain. I'll let you know in the next day or two how it goes.

Edited by: Jali Prince on 13/11/2009 15:05:18 now i thought it was just any old 16 or so missions then one pops up.... i have r and d agents i think they are all level 4 now over two factions MIN/GALL, i do missions for SOE and RSS and if I happen to be in the Gallente agent office when it comes in its a Gallente one, SOE office, SOE one and Minnie well you get the picture... or did I get it wrong?
However, cannot tell, as I am a casual missioner may bes a couple a week if I get the time.

It is indeed 16 missions of the same level for the same faction.
The counter is not reset if you run missions for a different faction, or of a different level.
R&D missions also go towards the count, although you gain no corp standings for completing these.
So, you can run 4 level 4 missions for Gal corps, 2 level 3 for Min corps, a couple of Gal level 4 R&D missions, etc. and once you have hit the magic 16 missions of the same level for one of the factions you will be offered a story line

Please explain: 1. Why wouldnt I get a storyline after 18 missions with SAME level 4 agent. (Have sent petition)
2. The previous 9 missions that I did with a level 3 agent-is the counter still running-can I go back to the level 3 agent to finish that cycle?

have you declined any missions? perhaps some to low sec?
My understanding is that if you decline a mission then it subtracts one from your "completed" count.
So if you've done 10 missions but come to one you want to decline, if you decline it the count goes down to 9

Just in case. Facton Warfare missions do not count for storylines and do not give storylines. Double check inbox. Check Journal.
As for 2, yes the level 3 cycle is waiting to be finished.
