Dear Ms. Wildfire,
despite being a theorist on Warfare, an uncle of mine is capable of flying combat ships himself and is in the lucky position to be capable of fyling all races ships and their T2 variants up to Battlecruisers along with all T1 Battleship.
Oddly enough, he tells me that he prefers flying Minmatar frigates and cruisers. The simple reason for this behviour is that he makes his decisions based on rationalism and his style of flying.
In essence, the Rupture - when fitted right and flwon by an experienced pilot - can easily achieve a damage output of up to 600 DPS when overheating the guns whilst being agile and sporting a sufficient tank, which is allmost 3 times the damage the arbitrator (in his opinion the only viable Amarr cruiser) has. The Stabber is unmatched in agility in his class and I don't need to mention the wonderful vagabond as well as the legendary Rifter which is unmatched in his ship class except for the Kestrel under certain circumstances. Also the Thrasher is hands down the best Destroyer-class vessel.
When it comes to Hurricanes, he starts swarming about the ship as it has many advantages over the respectable Harbinger, Drake, Myrmidon or Brutix that suit his flying style more. The Typhoon, yet skill intensive is a very strong battlehip and even the Tempest is good in its role.
Their versatility make them wonderful ships and allow for some surprises, whereas any other races class is far more restricted to certain roles, even without the upcoming advances in projectile amunition we've all heard about.
So I've spoken to him and he can't really see any reason for your complaints as he has the choice whenever he buys a ship and more often than not, deliberatley decides to go Minmatar.
If I may add, when studying combat records, I find no significant correlation between militia forces allegiance and the ships they field, so I wonder even more about your comments. Even when it comes to combat pilots origins, I have seen many free-born Minmatar fighting for the Amarr, Gallente or Caldari, as well as Amarr fighting for the Minmatar and other factions. The only significant exception from this is PIE Inc.
Moreover, if you study said combat records and look at ship involvements, you may find that in the last week (a rather successfull one for the Tribals), Minmatar brought more ships than the Amarr to 90% of the fights that were fought, so I can't really see the validity of your claims considering numbers, be they on paper, where you outnumber them by several hundreds or fleet participation (not to mention Star Fraction combat and intel support or EM's financial incentives to capture complexes as well as free ship supply by SF, some comforts the Amarr don't enjoy from third parties).
I try to view things neutral in my studies, but the unique combination of lachrimose racial hatred often observed among the Tribals really makes it hard to like you.
Best Regards
