Edited by: Tiberizzle on 12/11/2009 23:46:11 So I've noticed that with the current Catalyst and wine 1.1.29 on a 4650, with all Eve game settings maxed at 1920x1200 force FSAA in various modes and levels works. Other than the adaptive mode (which butchers game text and slurs window outlines) it looks quite good and doesn't even have a terrible lot of overhead as framerate is already pretty tragic with the 4650 at this resolution. However, usually the first time I undock it switches off and becomes retina-slicingly jaggy again. What gives? Any thoughts?

I'm sure it's because you're posting in the wrong forum.

The Windows guys have no idea what they are missing and it doesnt really bother me. Let them run their computers with Windows if they want... its their loss.
Switched to Linux a year ago and discovered what its like to be in control again. No annoyances anymore and a computer that boots and shuts down faster than my mobile phone. No antivirus software slowing down the computer, no popups from daddy Microsoft, but the best thing about it is that its clean and slick like MacOS without being proprietary.
I tried Windows 7 in virtual box and it was seriously annoying to use to me as a Linux user, but if you are a Windows user, its probably at least as good as XP was.
Anyway, lets see what Google can come up with on the operating system market. Rumors say Chrome OS is coming in a week. With 3D graphics now being possible in the browser, we will approach a future where Windows is no longer required to play games. And then the monopoly will forever fail.

I love Linux as much as anyone.... but that's not what this thread is about!
Why are my FSAA settings undoing themselves?
I just rebooted and logged on in space with it on, so it isn't strictly when I undock that that it disables.
This game has a lot of jaggies, it really needs FSAA!11 Help a brotha out.

Fantastic news!11111 It appears to be working without issues now. I changed the color depth in game to the suggested default from 16-bit after realizing that the Catalyst driver only supports 24-bit color. FSAA hasn't disabled itself yet and I've docked and moved around a bit... strange, but worth noting. If it disables itself again I will be sure to come back and complain some more.
