The changes to t2 material requirements have devalued the Dysprosium and Promethium high end moons by a good margin, just as intended.
But by massively increasing the need for armor plates another even worse bottleneck occurs: Technetium
What makes it even worse is that Technetium is almost exclusively located up North in Guristas space (I mean not Venal alone, but all space with Guristas NPCs), so compared to Dys/Prom the regional unbalance is staggering.
Things that can adress this (a single one will do, a combination is also possible):
- see more Tech moons, concentrate the new ones in the areas with
- introduce Alchemy mechanics that produce Tech from common materials
- change build requirements of t2 materials again to require less armor plates and more other stuff
- change the reaction for products requiring Technetium so it consumes less Tech and more of the other materials (this is tricky at it would involve breaking the "100/100 -> output" scheme of reactions), alternatively just increase the output of the reactions?
Caveat for all these solutions: Make sure you dont create a new (prolly even worse) bottleneck again

/me climbs up amy's shoulder and whispers something into her ear about armor plates not having anything to do with technetium
if you are looking at the eve-elements pdf and it says 30 fullerides go into titanium diborite plates, then i'm afraid that's wrong and was supposed to be sylramic fibres - putting the gist back into logistics |

Seems you were using Dotlan as a source of moon locations. And if you check Dotlan again: venal was scanned in 100%, south was scanned in less than 50% (in some cases it was 2-3%). The remaining 97% might as well be lacking 200-300 technetium moons. And as it was assumed earlier in similiar thread - total amount of tech moons probably is 3x larger than you can see in dotlan.

Thanks for the pointer, I know technetium gets used in making fullerides and nanotransistor, which in turn are used in microprocessors and sensor clusters which are materials increased in the new build costs, like armor plates.
I actually meant to edit that out as I actually looked it up from a proper source after i wrote that, didnt take the first edit, its now fixed.

I didnt use dotlan as source, I used moon scans from several northern and southern regions (admittedly not all), some which I did myself and the Tech moons in the South can be counted on a couple hands really, ofc I cant 100% vouch for the accuracy of the scans i didnt do myself but they show all the juicy moons so why would anyone edit out the Tech moons of all on purpose? Doubtful.
Plus from my own experience I can tell that in Venal and Branch you cant throw a rock without hitting a Tech moon and it always struck me as odd that down South they are very scarce
But maybe you are right and there is a number nicely hidden Tech moons in the South as there is in the North, CCP have the right numbers and would know there is a problem - if they bother taking a look that is, which is part of the purpose of this thread.
If there is in fact not a Technetium bottleneck to be expected, then great, if the guesstimates by Akita and other people (with more math skills then me admittedly) are right though then replacing the Dys/Prom bottleneck with a Tech one would be outright silly, especially since so many people pointed CCP towards it explicedly.
