I recently upgraded to windows 7(64bit), as well as added a 4890 to my computer.
After reinstalling EVE it seems my full screen native is my only available option, even in windowed mode.
How can i add smaller resolutions to eve? is there some kind of file i can edit?

Go to your videocard's control panel, and see if there's a section in there, where you can add resolutions and custom resolutions. Any custom resolutions should appear in EVE's graphics settings.
A few things:
Did you install the videocard before or after installing Windows?
Was EVE installed prior to the videocard itself being plugged in?
Also, do any other resolutions appear in fullscreen mode? If so, have you tried switching to one of those and then going to windowed mode?

Yea I can choose another resolution for my desktop.
I seem to have found a workaround, if i switch to a lesser resolution then EVE will display all possible resolutions.
I just quickly swtich to another change the clients resolution then switch back and it stays.
I think its a problem with eve detecting all possible resolutions in windows 7 64bit.

I have windows 7 x64 too.. and I am not experiencing this issue.
Here's a possible solution:
Run in full screen 1280x1024.
After that hit the left ALT + Enter . Right alt has another function in Windows 7..at least on my OS... when I hit right ALT + Enter nothing happens.
Anyway left ALT + Enter will bring you in the window mode, and will automatically switch your resolution to 1024x768.
If you are running a higher resolution in full-screen, the same principle should work.
