Cause the ore thieves there not only steal the ore, they also kill the miner. They don't call themselves ore thieves, though, pirates.

Ore theft is a part of Eve. I've had it happen to me a few times. Its not different than some kid shopping in a department store. You sigh, shake your head, and keep on mining. And....if you happen to be in 0.0 space.....blow them to hell.

Ok, you don't shoot the ore theif; that's stupid. You shoot the can they are trying to take from. If you time it just right, you can pod it just before they get into looting range.
Really irks them too, when they've been spending 20-30 minutes trying to get the hauller up to your can to loot it.

I still don't get it, how hard is it to make sure you have slightly more haulage capacity then mining capacity so that there is always a hauler of yours near the jetcan ?
I mean, c'mon, get organised already _______________________________________________

That is always annoying, when ore thieves hide in a corp which you CANNOT declare war against.
If this is so, surely its exploiting the game mechanics to your advantage.
As war decs are supposed to be one possible way of dealing with this. Maybe in npc corps you should be allowed to declare war on a single person then? but then newbie's can be targeted which is totally unfair.
Hmm

You wouldn't want that. Picture a war against you average ore thief alt.1 warslot gone.He hardly logs on, you never see him. When he does log on, hes free to attack unsuspecting miners in 1.0 with his frigates popping cans, drones, maybe a ship. If you ever catch him, you destroy his insured 500k indy with worthless equipment and a worthless pod.
I made my case. Funny how people always want a thing but never consider the consequences.

whining about ore thieves is like complaining that someone stole your car because you left the keys in it.
either mine into a few secure cans, mine into a jet can thats frequently empied by an alt/corp m8 (use instas) so if you see a suspect indy closing in on your can, your alt/corp m8 can swoop in and snatch up the ore, mine in 0.0-0.4 space and be ready for battle, if its 1.0 and you cant use secure cans, slap a mining laser on an indy and leave it chewing a fat rock before you go to bed/work, or dont bloody mine! =P ---
Was it good for you? |
