I would like to see a new menu to manage and view events in game that allows us to create, advertise, filter and find ingame events run by players and CCP. This would include functions to:
* Find/ Filter Events (by Player Response, Past Event Attendance, Event Op Responses, Corporation/ Alliance, Required Skills/ Ships etc.)
* Display Event Info (Description, required Skills, Ship Fittings, Cost, Status, Start and End Dates etc.)
* A Calendar
* Add Event or Event Operators Events to Calendar
* Event Results page with relevant Stats (killmails, total carnage caused, ore mined etc.)
* Event Op Rating System
* Manage, Create Events
* Pre Event Registration
* Automatically figure out what times you are normally available so you can use this data as a filter
* Toggle to allow your corp CEO and/or Alliance Directors access to when you are available and what ops you are interested in
This function would be tied into COSMOS/NEW EDEN and calendar functions so that relevant and selected event ops and events co-ordinator's events could be automatically added to your calendar which would also be tied in with the new Fleet Finder function coming with the upcoming "Dominion" expansion.
Examples:
CORP/ ALLIANCE USAGE:
* Manage and advertise your corp/ alliance ops and see if there are enough people online on Friday to make it worth while.
* Check and see if anything's happening on Friday in your corp or alliance - automatically filtering out events that aren't running while you are online, and uninteresting mining events; because putting mining lasers on your Megathron offends you.
* Manage your corp pvp ops, with an easy way of recording the successes and failures of your fleet commanders
PERSONAL USAGE
* Organise a player run event
* Find an event, that's relevant to how you play eve and when you play it
* Organize and generate some interest in your hisec hulk ganking expedition, and then be able to proudly display to everyone the carnage caused
Heres the first version of an example menu:
(This example is more geared towards public events, I will do one for Alliance/ Corp Ops when I have some time)

Updated picture per suggestions mainly from Evelgrivion.
Some suggestions and changed submitted but not added yet:
- The icons have no relevance atm, but would take the place of the submenus (Just need to find relevance icons)
- The Calendar needs to be visable
- Some buttons need to be tickboxes and vice versa
- Event and Operation Status needs to be more visable and clearer to read

Now why would you possibly want something like this?
Seriously though, very cool idea. Be a bit of work for them to do it right, and the details will vary based on how Spacebook winds up looking, but I like it. Can see cool things resulting. Supported.

There is always a problem when you try to organize events on a mid level scale to reach out to the players who might be interested in your event. Perhaps other requriement options then skill level and isk, such as ships or the ability to fit a particular module, say cov ops cloak or remote armor repairer?
I know you put it on the list but to have it as a search criteria aswell would be nice.

Not a bad idea, I was thinking there would be a link to list the required items/ships for an operation/ event, being able to check whether your skills are sufficient would be a good function so that you can filter out events you can't join. I'll add that in when I get some time.

You'll probably find that something similar to this will come with 'New Eden' when it's released.
Supported though, it's a good idea regardless.

If all our hopes for New Eden come true this will be part of it. Eve is a player driven game and anything that helps players organise and advertise gets my support.

Well, since the game is supposed to be player driven, I don't see any problems with making that easier by providing more tools for the players to drive the game forward.
Very nicely done btw. I'm sure CCP will have a hard time making it useless if they even remotely follow your example

This idea would improve the player input into the game, and increase teamwork (something CCP seems to want). I don't see why it's not already in the game :)

awesome idea and would be a perfect. oficial games, scam proof (at least more legitimate) and the ui actually looks sexy and functional. great for corps and great for alliance use.
