So you think its weird if a corp wants a full API in order to join?

Limited API should be enough, why do they want to see your assets, bought/sold items and journal?
They have probably been the target of serious griefing and stolen items or they suspect you will bring it to them. If neither, i say dont join.

Yeah, pretty much. Limited API confers useful information, the extra stuff given by the Full API doesn't offer anything that should be relevant to a recruiter at all.

On the contrary, the full API key is very important if you are a large 0.0 sov-holding alliance with many enemies who have a deep love for the metagame.
Being able to track wallet usage and isk transfers is crucial - it allows you to do things like check and see if the applicant has receieved large isk donations from enemy alliances. My own corp has caught a couple of would-be spies this way, and we started doing it after we got burned by a PL spy who would never have gotten in if we had asked for his full API.
Full API keys are a pretty standard requirement throughout the Northern Coalition, I believe.

How far back does Full API go? I thought the transactions only went back a week or am I mistaken?
What suspicious transactions older than a week would still be visible?

Hm.. Kesper's got a valid point; I wasn't thinking along the lines of srs bzns nullsec alliances.
In that light, I'll amend: Only give the Full API if the corp you're trying to join is really 'on the level'.
