Looks like the server crashed
What happens to my probes? Did I lose them?
Am I stuck in this wormhole now?

Probes will last in space 1-2 hours.. you can reconnect to them if they havent expired.
As for stuck in the wormhole? .. well assuming you get your probes back i dont see why you should be :)

Open the scanner window and click on the 'reconnect to lost probes' button.
If your probes are still alive and haven't expired yet, then you should be able to retrieve them.
You brought spares.. right?

I only have combat probes left.
The server just crashed or something without warning. Does "floating stuff" like probes stay in the game?

Like was said, probes last an hour or so.
When you log back on you have to open your scanner and "reconnect to lost probes" and you will get any probes you lost back as long as they haven't expired.

Two things:
1) Always carry spare probes. In the event you could not get back on before the probes expire, you'd at least have the ability to continue looking for a way out.
2) You can find anything with combat probes, if your skills are good enough. I've successfully probed down a 10/10 plex with Sisters Combat probes, though it did require some fiddling with probe position and moving them manually much closer than normal to the site to get 100%.

Because you can never predict disconnections or server crashes, I carry:
* 8x Sisters Combat Probes
* 8x Sisters Core Probes
* 100x Core Probes (fills an expanded launcher)
I haven't got stuck yet

Without warning didn't happen to be the market caused reboot where there was 2 warning and a countdown, would it?
