You developers from CCP might not see it on SISI, but on Tranquility it becomes more and more annoying. I remember a couple of months ago ISK-seller spam bots were sometimes in Jita local, spammed their message 4-5x or jumped through several systems. Now it goes on and on. Jita is the worst, but other trade hubs become spammed, too. Usually I put my corp tab infront of the Jita local. Just the moments I look on it by accident, it disgusts me. And it is not only that. All this spam ends up in the chat logs, which makes a Jita file after a short time a couple of MB.
Also another upcoming problem are the many private mails or convos. It started a few weeks ago and since that, I get often from 1-day old NPC-Chars a convo, whether I want to buy this or that Navy ship or ships. These guys are scammers.
Long story short: this is not the game experience, we are looking for. CCP, do something to stop it!

Put youre isk change to send u a mail up to 10m isk that will soon deter them Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Quote: CCP, do something to stop it!
Given the ease with which one can create a trial account, I can't imagine its such a simple a problem to solve.
Besides, its such an important issue it would be unreasonable to assume they aren't working on it. Perhaps they've just slacked off a little while they're working on the dominion release?
What would be your proposed solution? This post has been cleared of inappropriate content. |

Edited by: Windjammer on 26/11/2009 06:57:54 Ask yourself this. Is this really a topic that belongs in "Test Server Feedback"? I'll wait. (Time) (Time) (More time) (Time) (Still more time) By now you know you've done your fellow EVE pilots wrong and will no doubt be raising this valid issue in the appropriate forum category instead of diluting your message through the newb style tactic of putting it in the wrong category.
Go forth and do valid and appropriate things, young pilot.

You obviously dont do this at all, else you would know you can only block 50 people and then you cant block anymore. All I have to do I go to the wtb contracts and block the first 50 people and its over, I cant block anymore. Even casually it took me only a day to fill it. Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

Edited by: Cyprus Black on 27/11/2009 05:56:32 It's quite obvious CCP is aware of the problem. They even brought out their ongoing Unholy Rage against RMT. It wasn't just one swift multi-ban. It's an ongoing project to ward off these losers.
CCPs silence on the matter is to be expected. Any anti-RMT method CCP reveals to the public they also reveal to the RMT crowd.
Oh, and please change the title of this thread. It's got nothing to do with scammers. ___________________________________

Really? Because I have 129 names on my block list. Almost every one of them a scammer or spammer.
Given that you can ignore contracts from 80 people too, what you are claiming makes very little sense unless its skill dependent. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

The solution is pretty simple:
Forbid trial accounts from talking in Jita local (and the other trade hubs + mission hubs),
and(if CCP really wants to crack down):
...forbid trial accounts to send Eve-mails or PMs to chars who have not Eve-mailed or PM'ed them first.

QFT
Simple yet highly effective solution that doesn't impair on the trial experience. (at least not to a degree that it warrants doing nothing to help the paying customers). .

easy solution
make it so people on your friends list don't have to pay the charges you set.
that way if you set it to 10 million isk, only people that want to pay you 10 million isk are allow to talk to you.
: )

You can do this.
Open mail and right click your inbox and select settings. In the general tab select "cpsa controlled messaging" from the default access drop down and add the cpsa charge you want in the box below this. In the allowed tab add your alliance/corp/anyone else you don't want to charge. Click OK.
The CPSA charge is not applied to anyone in your allowed list.
Hope this helps.

Actually, this doesn't work. You're basically saying "come play our multiplayer game! PS. You're not allowed to talk to anyone."
How exactly would new players MEET anyone? (And no, those 3000+ hectic rookie channels are not the solution)

Agreeing that cutting off trials from comunicating is horrible.

QFT there's been more then one MMO that I stopped playing after 1 day of trials because of this. Not being able to PM someone to ask for example "Hey, why did you kill my thing?" or "Could you help me with a mission? I'm kinda stuck" etc really destroys the whole MMO experience. It might be easy for us with full accounts to say that this is a good solution, but it really makes for a miserable trial period (at least for me in other games) -------------------------------- Screw you guys, I'm going home |

Email-sent verification code which has to be typed ingame in order to be allowed to use channels. If the banning of isk spamming accounts include banning of the email address so that no new accounts can be registered from the same email, you would immediately put an insane pressure on isk spam. Legit players wouldn't be phased by this, but isk spammers would have to overcome yet another barrier.

I hope CCP creates an event which involves a Gallente Titan, a Dominion Doomsday and Jita. After that eeeeeeeeeeeveryone in that station, around it and near it dies. Probably another add to that would be that the items there would scatter around New Eden and become NPC market orders!
Which wont happen. Never will be. CCP created those bots, true story. They hate the Gallente anyway. It's easy to see that the Gallente-Caldari issue looks quite alike the German-French issue in Europe.
I wonder who'd the Americans.
Jove?
Gallente and Jove both got the same pretty shapes and colours.
Plus, Jove are British-ish.
I love ranting.
