Greetings MD!
I have been looking around here for the last few days, did some searches and attempted to see if there is a "Sports Book" or a type of a Football(Grid Iron/USA) type place to lay some bets.
There doesn't appear to be one. I found some threads, some people looked quite enthusiastic to be bidding and winning, but it was poorly executed numerous times. While I do not have the capital funds to start a 'true book' with -110 lines. I know you need at 200 max payouts, I am trying to get an interest gauge on such activities.
For the first month or two I would engage in "Pool Play Administrating". For example I would put up 20 QB/RB/WR. Then charge "X" isk to play per position, allow people to bid on whom they wish and then they winnings would be divided out back amongst the people with a small % admin fee.
I would also do 10 game, Pick'em pools, total point pools, basically anything anybody wants to spend a dime on I would be willing to administrate this to the EVE universe.
Send me an ingame mail as well expressing other forms of games you wish to see and you think there would be adequate support for.

As far as I know betting on real life events/sports has been expressly forbidden by CCP. Not saying you couldn't do it, but probably not when using their forums. :P

I've searched and haven't been able to find anything stating this, I submitted a petition. If anybody has a link for that I'd like it verified!

After a cursory glance I can't find any official CCP stance, although there are a number of threads closed/locked with an ISD member stating it's against CCP policy. Probably best to wait on your petition before putting any more effort in.

One example
Wouldn't something along the lines of EOH poker be the same thing as Pool administration?? Outside effects versus ingame currency.

I'm pretty sure they don't have a problem with gambling in game (through games of chance/skill) or betting on in game activities (alliance tournaments for example). I think where they have drawn the line is betting on games/events outside of EVE.
