Has anyone else noticed prices falling to horrendous lows in many commodities in Jita? Tomorrow is the last Saturday before patch release and it is going to be an interesting day's trading.
What predictions are people making short-term? I think stock releases will occur in many markets as people try to liquidate and grow nervous about any over-stocking, and as many manufacturers deliver "last minute" large-scale orders timed for just before the patch.
There will be a good last-minute recovery though as large-scale buying by big traders drives prices up. A good day for buying as prices fall in the next 24 hours, with stormy recoveries as high-value traders buy up entire markets on the back of speculation.
Bring the storm

Not only the market in Jita. I've found some really good deals on contracts leading up to Dominion, especially in the capital component market. I just picked up, a few minutes ago, a Capital Computer System BPO and a Capital Sensor Cluster BPO both ME 50 / PE 10 and both at NPC cost!!! The only better deal I have found was a few month ago when I picked up an unresearched Orca BPO for 150 mil less than NPC price

I personally think that slowly but surely, the whole idea of profit via solely in station trading is coming to a close.
Sure, it was a nice run for some people, but at this point, even 'noob' 3 week old players are creating basic market alts to do all their bigger ticket and on going purchasing using buy orders.
The margins are closing, especially in the market hubs where (even the cab drivers as they say in real life) are noticing they can save 15-20% by using a buy order and waiting a couple minutes. Coupling that with manufacturers noticing investing a bil or two in a well trained market alt could garner them about 20-30% more profit on their goods with no noticeable time difference in time to payment.
Who wins the battle between buy and sell orders is still yet to be seen, but the generic 'trader' in the middle is gonna get squeezed hard.
Coming back are the days where (God forbid I know) you actually have to MOVE goods to move 'em outta yer sell orders.
Just my +0.01 isks worth. - In essence, any combat related activity involving damage has been 'speed nerfed' to just take 6 times longer with a predetermined outcome coined balance by CCP. |

The mothership stuff has been covered. There will be less freighters needed as the courier contracts are being changed.
The tech II moongoo speculation compelled me to unanchor unused mobile labs and sell them to feed my neodymium and platinum technite addiction. I am probably not the only one doing this considering the technetium graph, but it does almost guarantee that nanotrasistors will be nerfed at the last moment.

This could go either way. I can also see more courier contracts being used now that you don't have to make 7 seperate contracts to move a freighterload of stuff.
Companies like Red Frog will benefit greatly from this as moving a large load required you to have to split the collateral and reward between all the seperate contracts to equal the total costs.

That was my point though. As long as there isn't a much greater amount of freight moving, the fact that red frog is doing the hauling means freighters are being used more efficiently....so less freighters needed. I am not saying it's for sure, but I don't regret selling that obelisk a couple weeks ago.

I think the freighter market may be set to... erm... explode. The Infrastructure Hub being so dang large that it only fits in a freighter, ought to make for a lot of gate battles and dead freighters.
