So far as I know, only one guy is using this as yet, but it's quite effective so it's probably only a matter of time. It is, in fact, nigh-unstoppable.
Works like this. This Goon, Kal Ora, has these four alts, apparently all on separate accounts and all in NPC corps. Two of them, Yalalala and YaIaIaIa are sacrificial sec status lambs, the actual suicide gankers, permanently -10 sec status. The other two are the support.
He uses his alt, Terarah, to bring in the suicide battleships(mainly Typhoons from what I've seen). Sets them up at a safespot, nothing fancy, just a bookmark dropped somewhere between the ice field and a celestial. One or both of the gankers(he does it both ways) in pods, warp to the safespot and wait.
Meanwhile, his other support alt, Arildurus, goes to the ice field in his crane. The crane is the warp in targeting point for the gankers. He sets it up humping whatever he wants to be the centerpoint of his killzone, focusing on finding bunched up groups of ice miners.
Then, when he judges the moment is right, his gank toons hop in the battleships, warp to the crane(who warps off), and start smartbombing as soon as they drop out of warp. Ice miners and industrials evaporate, and the resulting lag from the smartbombs and CONCORD spawn ball make it almost impossible to warp your pod out, so he gets that too. Then the crane comes back and loots the wreckage.
He also posts the killmails, with the killer's name falsified to his main on the Battleclinic and Goonswarm killboards, thus inflating his kill count for his main without the main ending up permanently -10 sec.
Despite having to eject from the battleship to get his -10 alts into them, he's apparently gotten wise to the theft potential and so now tends to do single-toon ganks, leaving Tera in the phoon until the last second, giving little to no time to either scram the phoon down at the safespot or steal the battleship before he gets into it. When combined with the fact that all four alts are in noob NPC corps, this leaves retaliation down to podding the ganker alts, which basically costs him nothing(he med-clone jumps all the time anyway).
It's an almost flawless setup that allows him to kill hundreds of ice miners with almost no possible retaliation other than collecting a few pointless pods, at least without taking a sec status hit and CONCORDoken yourself.
Amazing more people don't do it, but then he does have to four-box to do it.

Nah. Mildly annoyed at best. It's a clever use of the mechanics, really. Absolute maximum possible number of easy kills with the absolute minimum risk of failure, loss, or retaliation.
It's the last part that annoys me. No matter how hard I try, it's basically impossible to stop him. Or even hurt him. I've yet to see an actual goon ingame since I came back though, when I do, it'll be odd to have them lacking the little blue +. I've yet to see a goon white or red yet.

Isn't inflating KB stats with mining vessel kills kinda like padding your Major League record with stats gained while you play JV Baseball? 
That said, he wants to go to all that trouble to pop some ice miners, moar powah to him.

You do know that a buffer tanked Mackinaw will tank the dmg of a single BS smartbombing, and if your skills are good and you bother with the implants it should be able to handle 2...
