I find one of the interesting dynamics of EVE is how there's room for all types of players within it. With that in mind I always find it amusing on how those differing groups of players often disparage those who choose the other path. I should say that I try to tread both sides of that path - though granted I'm not much of a PvPer, I love the fact that aspect of the game is always there. While there is a few places where things could be tweaked, on the whole the game works well.
Lets face it though, if everyone in the game did the same thing it would rapidly lose its charm. If everyone was strictly into the PvE side of things, the missions would have gotten dull a long time ago, the roids would all be mined all the time and there would be no markets to make and sell stuff - after all there would be significantly less demand for items if people weren't losing ships. Everyone would have their mission battleship, their hauling ship and their mining ship. Every ship would be a cookie cutter mold of what would be the best rat killer, roid breaker or cargo monster. CCP would be doomed to continually introduce new content as is the bandage fix of many other MMOs.
On the other side of things, if everyone just PvPed, we'd probably only be having arguements on what was the best fit for a Rifter - no one would have bothered trying to move past that point, or maybe even could have. Since everyone out there was always ready to fight back, we'd have the same battles replaying over and over. No POS assaults, no capital ship battles (after all who would bother building these things?) No battles for territorial control... just endless marauding gangs and gatecamps. Everyone a hunter, no one's prey. People would have gotten bored long ago.
So enjoy the game. Revel in the risk it presents and the challenge there in. Don't hate the players... you need them. --------------------------------- |

WTF????
This is EvE!!! We are supposed to hate and despise each other. If our own mothers played, we would hack her accounts and steal her ISK!!! We are supposed to take everything personally, and seek to exact revenge on the weak and helpless so one day we may finally be at peace over being molested as kids!
Our ultimate goal should be at best to ruin this game and then complain 24/7 about how ruined it is. If we manage to make some young players hang themselves in their closets along the way, so much better.
TEARS! We must have tears! And relish in them to the utmost on our private forums... but be sure to come in here and act like that's not the case.
What the hell is wrong with you people.
Before you know it, there is going to be a campy embarrassing man-hug emote.
