How about only the first/oldest character of an account can post on the forums? It would really help reduce all the crap that is on the forums atm.. ___

or at the very least, place the age of the character since creation and how many posts they have in that space below their name, in addition to corp and race, but make these stats mandatory, NOT something they can choose to omit.

why not? characters posting with old characters with lots of posts would be taken more seriously than all these silly alts. it would either lend strength to or weaken someone's post accordingly.

wha? what do trial accounts have to do with anything?
look, all i'm saying is that people posting with new (or even old) characters that have low post counts would find their posts carry little or no weight, making it pointless to do so. to be taken seriously at all would require that you post with your main character, the one with the high post count and the one that's been around the longest.
plenty of other boards use this to great effect.

some people use alts when replying too posts too avoid greifing. You have too face the fact that some people can't take any criticism what so ever and will even go too the extent of podding you in game because they didn't like what you wrote. So for those reasons your suggestion is not a good one. See theres 2 sides too that coin I am giving you an opposite point of view.

Edited by: Mr Resident on 19/11/2004 15:24:48 I agree with *****en. I've used my alt before to reply to posters who are quite obviously unstable in terms of attitude to the game. I have no problem with someone podding me because of the way I play, or because of the way THEY want to play, but don't see why I should put my main at risk just because someone doesn't like something I typed.
And guess what? This is my alt. He's one day younger than my main, and probably has as many posts as him, so most of the extra info suggested wouldn't help to identify him as an alt.
Why the hell is C-R-A-C-K picked out by the p-o-r-n filter?

Nope, all fine. How dumb can you get?

The age of a character would be a good idea (though people could just use old alts ;)). But post count is a stupid idea, any large forum that shows it has morons making pointless (even empty) posts and threads just to get their count up. There is enough crap on the forums as it is.
