Hello folks.
Im working on grinding standings for an R&D corp, but the snag is that most of their agents are in losec. I dont mind losec at all (im working on standings with them just so i can have a passive isk source if my sec status goes too low) but taking a fat "come kill me please" mission ship into losec isnt my idea of a good time. I can use one Q18 level 2 agent (who still loves to send me to losec, but at least these i can run in a cheap rifter) and have social at 3. Is it possible to get to 6.7 standings with just this agent, and will training social to 4 make any noticable difference? Got from 0 to 2.1 relatively quickly (a few hours) but still have a long way to go. Thanks!

Yes and yes. It might take awhile, but that's how I unlocked level IVs with SOE since they have no good level 3 combat agents.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Hey, I got to 6.7 with a Q19 level 1 agent; you aren't going to have any problems.
Then again, I wasn't grinding missions, or even doing it for the standings. I was too scared of the higher levels.

This might not be possible, depending on the corp in question. But use a site like Eve Agents to find any storyline agents of that corporation you're trying to raise standings with. Cross reference the locations of the storyline agents with other level 2 agents of the same corporation, then look at other storyline agents of the same faction as the corp you're looking for.
Generally, if you have no outstanding storyline agents, the offer for one will come from the closest storyline agent of the same faction to the station where the last completed mission was given is located. You can track your missions, and after a storyline run 15 for your chosen agent then move and run #16 for an agent near the storyline agent. This would get you a storyline mission from the same corporation, and the standing increase for the storyline is much bigger than that of a normal mission.
I used this for Ishukone, Kaalakiota, and Carthum Conglomerate, when I was grinding standings with them. It won't work with Lai Dai (they have no storyline agents). ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Any mission you complete successfully will give you a percentage towards 10.0, so any agent can be used to reach the perfect 10. In equation-form: new_standing = old_standing + percentage * (10 - old_standing)
Higher level missions generally give higher percentages (not always though), but you can grind lower level missions faster. It seems that L3 missions are in a sweet spot for standing-grinding-speed. Pay special attention to the storyline-missions: try to trigger those with an agent of the corp you are grinding. Storyline missions have very high percentages. You always trigger the storyline-agent closest to where you completed the 16th mission (for the same faction at the same level). [None] |

Edited by: Khan''ha on 03/12/2009 03:12:51 The corp im working for is Boundless Creation, who dosent have a storyline agent, so i get storylines from a Republic Fleet agent; they dont seem to have any impact on my B.C. standing when i do them either; they just make my minny standing better. Is that normal?
EDIT. They have storyline agents....level 1 ones. Sigh.

Storyline agents only affects faction standings and standings of the corp the storyline agent belongs to.
If you want to get a storyline from a specific agent you need to run a mission of the appropriate level as the 16th mission between your storyline offers. All 16 missions must be run at that level as well so if it's a level 1 agent that means find the nearest non-storyline agent that's level 1 and run 16 missions with them (or make sure the 16th level 1 mission you run with that corp is with that agent).
Hope that wasn't too confusing

You can also do cosmos missions, huge faction standing boost. - If you find the post above offensive feel free to feel offended. |

The social skill will help, and the connections skill will help as well.
Since it is boundless creation, there is something else that will help, if you need minmatar faction standing too. The once-daily research and development agent missions themselves count towards the number needed to generate the next storyline mission. There are a group of boundless creation R&D agents within a relatively short span of high sec-low sec systems, hek, amo, hagilur, evati, helgatid (spelling?). If you have the research project management skill, and start signing up with the lower level R&D agents as your corp standing rises, and have the time to make a daily circuit of the R&D agents above for a simple courier mission or the bring some tritanium mission, you can trigger another storyline for faction standing. My one character was triggering level 4 storylines in nakugard from the level 4 research agents (for +4 implants) when she couldn't complete a level 3 combat mission at all. Mind you, you need to use the amo agent for that 16th mission, or the storyline kicks back into low sec. Carrying big loads of kernite through hagilur is about like showing off your freighter in rancer, but dashing around in low sec in a fast frigate is very doable.
You might be able to crank out more combat missions in hek faster anyway, but once you hit level 3 or 4 research agents, their missions count for the storylines just like any other missions.
