I am going to take a wild guess and say I'm not the first to post this but..............Why can't ccp make it so we can see if we killed a pod with implants or not, and why does it NOT show this? I NEED to know if i killed some1 with 500mil worth of implants or not :) any insight would be nice

I don't think autocannon ammo or lasers should have the power to analyze the biomass they just vaporised.

Counter-suggestion: remove pod killmails. The less stuff for bubble campers to fap to, the better
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

You are absolutely right, you are not the first one to post this. And the idea has been shot down just as often as it has been suggested.
The best reason is the simplest: A killmail informs you what was in/on the ship, not in/on the player piloting it. Implants are completely seperate from the ship and therefore should not appear on a killmail. Ever.
However, don't think of this as me saying that it's none of your business what implants a player has...or had. I just don't think that information should be handed to you on a platter.
Every time I have gotten involved in this topic, I have always suggested an alternative idea: Autopsies. Want to know what implants a player had? Then scoop up his corpse, dock at the nearest station with medical facilities and find out yourself. The examination is chance-based, of course (not every corpse can be recovered in perfect condition) and the Biology skill would be ideal to associate with this "research". |

So, in reality you want to know how big an ass you made of yourself by pod killing someone who had a lot of implants...
Is your self esteem really that low?

This if @ all, if you podded someone you already know that you ruined their day.
Umm well, not always. I have been known to use a shuttle if I am going somewhere, sometimes on autopilot in 0.0, simply cause I am going to another region and don't care if I get podded. Funny enough it would be easier to self destruct, but I get some amusement if I manage to do it all on autopilot.
Either way it seems like a lot of coding just so people can feel a little better about ruining someones day. I thought 0.0 was about controlling territory, I could care less about about the details on the person unless I was curious why they were giving me so much hurting before they died.
What ever, I guess if you need it and CCP has some time and feels like putting it in, then it will happen, if not then not.

If CCP are gonna spend time recoding smth regarding killmails, that effort would be far better spent making combatants who shot at a victim before he jumped show on the killmail.
That causes waay more irritation than wondering if the guy had crystals or smth. --------------------------------------------

I actually like this idea, maybe have a 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% 10% chance (based on skill level) of actually successfully extracting the implants from the corpse if it is still relatively newly killed.

I thought about this about 4 weeks into starting playing EVE, about 2.25 years ago.
New Skills
Surgery - each level increases chance of retreval 2% Advanced Surgery - requires level 5 Suregery additional 2% recovery bonus per lvl
Required Skills
Science 5 Biology 5 Cybernetics 5 Laboratory Operation 5 Infomorph Psychology 5
EDIT: Even start having insertion of implants a player a player action.
Also, since the learning skills will probably never be removed make them usefull in some future skill development.
For sugery you require level 5 in all Basic Learning skills.
For Advanced Surgery require level 5 in all Advanced Learning skills.
I mean to be a brain surgeon, due to delicate removal of the immplants, you would need to be pretty smart, fairly dextrous, strong of will, and even slightly charismatic to allow people to

the only good thing I can see, is that it MIGHT give a small boost to the assassin/bounty hunter profession, but since it's going to be only used for km-whoring, it's pointless.

one reason i want to know is because i have killed ships that took way too muh damage to die (i am not total noob, i have eliminated other reasons for that) and i have been killed by ships that i should have been able to tooka down easily, if i had info on their pod i would be able to know why some ships acted the way they did. but the one suggestion about having to take a corpse and do an 'autopsy' on it to find what he had in it was excellent.
