Absolutely nothing has changed with hyperions or rokhs or deimos or astarte or blasters so I'm not sure what the hell you're on about.

BS sized Blasters with NULL have an extra 10-15km to play with.
These fits have tracking enhacners because theyre shield tanked.
They are shield tanked because this is for ganking support for gangs not for solo pvp with self armor reps.
I stopped using local tanks when I stopped playing eve all by myself.

Cut the fall off range in half - at 50% of 1st falloff you still have 75% of your damage. 40% of 1st falloff = 80% dps.

On the Hyperion you fit 2 invulns first, then choose between a LSE or a point. If you are going to fit a point you should also take one gun off for a heavy nuet. That way you have a chance of holding something. Otherwise just rely on your gang for the whole tackle thing.
The 2 invulns give much more ehp when you start overheating. It takes a while for them to burn up so spending the time overheated isn't unreasonable, and a shield logistic will do alot more for you if you're sitting on the invulns.

That's an awkward way to put it. I also argued that the falloff changes were a blaster boost and got boo'ed into the ground for it. The thing to notice here is that they're all shield tank fits. You can get "similar" performance (30% falloff instead of 64% falloff) with a single TC 'traditional' Hype. Then again, my (armor tanked) Hype actually runs 2 TCs...

Yeah, the common sense in the Projectile balance thread has been drowned out by nonconstructive whines for about a dozen pages now. I'm glad to see some blaster users reaping the benefits, though.

Not **REALLY**. What it really does is push blaster range further out, which helps mitigate some of the bigger problems with blaster ships (especially the less mobile battleships). Being able to sit on a gate and use blasters on decloaking people is a *REALLY REALLY* big improvement.

Not sure that actually is applicable to the topic at hand Gypsio. Gallente shield buffer tank blaster fits are well proven in PVP.

Yeah. Some numbers though... Guristas antimatter without triple TE = 15 km optimal, 11 km falloff. With triple TE = 21 km optimal, 21 km falloff. Quite a difference.

I'd like to think of the new tracking computer/tracking enhancer boost to falloff as something that benefits the armor tanking races with lots of mid slots (Gallente/Minmatar).
I'm a little scared to move away from ECCM in my mid slots for pvp though.
My OP was designed for shield gangs - with scimitars/basilisks/chimeras for support. I like shield tanked gallente/minmatar boats. You get damage, and mobility.
For RR - I may stick with my Mega - but trade one of my MFS for a TE. Or maybe I'll use a Hyp and slap a TC on a mid slot (while keeping an ECCM).
I'm just loving the new possibilities.
