no it still doesn't work. If I use <button type="button" onclick="CCPEVE.showInfo(22468)">Claymore</button> I get a claymore no problem... but if I try <button type="text" onclick="CCPEVE.showInfo(601)">Ibis</button> I don't get a damn thing. So what gives? Some items just can't be linked now? There are faction and unique ships I can't link either. What am I missing here? Man it was all working fine before.. grr... frustrating. ------------------------------------

The published field in the invTypes table for the Ibis is set to 0. Claymore (22468) is set to 1.

Wiki only shows how to do stuff with buttons, which sucks.
To make a normal link you do
<a href="javascript:CCPEVE.showInfo(...)">linky</a>
New IGB is fascist about what it lets you showinfo (booooo CCP, booo, hiss!). If something is not set as published you can't show info it, which includes rookie ships, Freki and Mimir, a metric ton of mission commodities, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
And it is not for the lack of me poking CCP over the past few years to get the item database somewhat consistent when it comes to metatypes and publish flags... oh well, I tried

I've built a website for the old ingame browser. I was able to drag'n drop characters to a textarea of the website. I was also able to drag'n drop hyperlinked(showinfo) characternames to my addressbook(and add them). None of this functionality seems to be working with the new browser. Does anyone managed to make this functionality available again on his/her site in combination with the new browser?
tnx in advance

You know, this really gets me. Why in the hell can I not link a rookie ship? Why not other unlisted items? These are in game! Come on CCP, if you want us to spend time developing pages and community sites and apps, why would you gimp what we can do? There is no good reason for this. Is there a work around for it? There are a lot of other guys asking me for answers with regards to their sites too.. I'm damn tempted to just scrap my sites all together. CCP, please, a work-around or an explanation. That's all I'm asking for here. ------------------------------------

This is not a browser issue, you can't even auto-link these in game anymore.

Don't get me started on that, not even new stuff like T3 ships has got correct metaGroupIDs set.

if you guys should have watched the video's, and it is a lill out of date for me aswell, the browser can only do page request, not data sending.
so no u cant send out your current system, char info etc, etc atm.

That is incorrect, browser headers are still being sent with that info.

This is not a browser issue, you can't even auto-link these in game anymore.
Wanna bet? Autolink already had restrictions on what it allowed. The browser never did and happily show-infoed anything you threw at it, even non-existant IDs (which obviously resulted in an error, but at least it still tried).
This new session interface (the CCPEVE object) code they wrote is simply honoring the published flag. It shouldn't be doing that. I've already talked to someone in CCP about this issue and the answer was that "someone was being too paranoid I guess", as there really is no reason for it to deny infoing arbitrary items because the information is already at our disposal through cache and db dumps.

No, you are probably right then. I know you could link any item in the old browser but I thought I remembered that worked via autolink too. In any case the main issue is with the published flag, no item which is on TQ should have that set to 0. Whether non-TQ items should be linkable is another question and while I'm neutral on that I can see why you would disallow it.

Hay Entity, are you having any luck linking the ships or items (zero status items) on your site yet? I still can't get around this. I'm experimenting with different calls but everything I'm trying the Java takes a dive on. ------------------------------------

one way arround it is using
CCPEVE.showFitting('typeID::')
You then get a fitting window from which you can show info the actual item. It's not elegant but it works.
I've discussed the showInfo() restriction with CCP on IRC and several people that matter agree it should not be restricted like that. I've been told the restriction may be lifted sometime later, but when is anyone's guess.

There are no right click menus anymore but you can use this method:
CCPEVE.showMarketDetails(typeID)

Can someone please add an example each of how to add a showinfo link for a system, a corp, a char, and an item?
I fail, miserably, so far.

Just a thought about there not being any right click menu. Since there isn't one it lets you add your own with what ever you want in it Javascript lets you capture any event include type of click and then do what you want with it including doing a popup window(div) with links in it. I'm guessing the 'Glass half empty' crowd hasn't thought of the opportunity this gives you to do something really interesting

Well of course, thought that was obvious, the problem is not the missing right click menus but the missing functionality. We only have JavaScript functions for a fraction of the old functionality so I'm hoping they bring it back.
