Edited by: BRAZEN FURY on 01/12/2009 22:25:29 The Windows peeps tell me to right click on the jukebox, but I only get the options "Close" and "Minimize". How can I navigate to where my music files are?
EDIT: Found it. You need to have the jukebox as a separate icon in your Neocom. Then you can right click on the icon to get the option "Open playlist." |

But can you get it to use any given path? Say I want to point it to my iTunes folder. I tried typing in the path to that folder and no joy. Is there a trick to it?

Seconded. How do we specify the path on a Mac?
Do the MP3's need to be in a certain folder?
If anyone has gotten this to work, please let us know. __

Edited by: Dane Brasten on 02/12/2009 06:06:55 Edited by: Dane Brasten on 02/12/2009 06:05:14 I don't know if the EVE client can see outside of the C:\ drive inside the EVE app bundle, at least as far as the Jukebox goes. It doesn't want to respect alias files so that option is out. You can however place files into the
EVE.app(right click > show package contents)/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE/res/Jukebox
file. You could even make a new folder called iTunes inside Jukebox. Then use the path res/Jukebox/iTunes . Place copies of the MP3s you want there. Creating an EVE friendly m3u is going to be another trick.
If you want your whole iTunes Library... I'd strongly suggest you keep playing iTunes in the background and turn the EVE music off, like we've been doing up to this point.

Thanks Dane, that actually worked in terms of finding the files, but once I did, all the MP3's sounded like static in-game. Looks like the jukebox is just botched on mac for now.

I use iTunes along with the multimedia keys on the keyboard. No need to alt+tab, just make sure to include the CCP-provided soundtrack in the iTunes collection and you're golden :)
For bonus points, use Remote on the iPhone to queue songs without leaving the EVE UI.

I was prompted to look at this today and I found a way to give paths to your own music without much hassle.
When you enter the path to your music in EVE there are two prefixes setup in the default Cider config as shortcuts:
d:\ ---this points to your homefolder in the Mac enviroment. g:\ ---this points to the root of your HD in the Mac enviroment.
Here are some examples:
d:\Music ---Same as ~/Music basically. It points to the folder called "Music" inside in your home. g:\Volumes\Myotherharddrive\More Music ---Points to the "More Music" folder on a harddrive called "Myotherharddrive".
Words of warning though. EVE seems to be picky about the mp3 files, some of mine work fine some sound like gibberish. What's worse, some make EVE crash.
Don't go into battle playing songs you never playtested in EVE before.
Finally, I don't know about everyone else, but EVE swaps to a new song without finishing the first one. It jumps to the next one around halfway through. Boo.
