I was ****ting bricks soon after my log-in today, browsing all the new features and then lastly undocking to go look some cool ass new planet skins.
Much to my horror, I was watching a slideshow of undocking for 5 minutes, then a slideshow of warping (with new sounds?), then lastly it was stuck for good 10-15 seconds at the first planet before the connection / computer managed to take a handle on things and give me freedom of movement. I thought uh oh...
Warped around, same thing anywhere I warp, doesn't even have to be a planet on the grid. I'm now playing eve-online as a slideshow. Thought maybe it was server side because of a lot of players online testing out the new expansion, but no one in my corp experienced the same symptoms.
I went from literally no problems, no machine / connection problems at all to feeling like I was running Crysis on my prior 10 year old PC. I thought maybe it was the new stars that put enormous pressure on graphics card, but I doubt it. It's not even a year old card and the fact that my trusty ship now likes to do multiple barrel rolls before and after every warp hints connection load.
I'm a newb with this stuff, I'm just shooting at the dark here but if anyone got any ideas, same kinda issues or the like throw in your 2 cents.

I don't know what to tell you, I'm actually getting better performance and load times that ever before, and less cpu use as well.
they seem to have optimized something somewhere that works well with my machine.

I was getting some uncool graphical stuttering/slowdown at first today, however a Corp member suggested this and all my fps problems went away.
Under graphics and display settings, on the left pane there should be a dropdown labeled Present Interval. Make sure this is set to present 1/one and not immediate. Maybe that'll work for you. |

I am getting simillar, dock/undock/warping and jumping seem to freeze the game for about 15 secs. though oddly no lag once on grid flying around no matter how busy grid is .... never had a problem before use to leave brackets on in 300+ fights and not get lag. Any ideas tried the main graphics settings no difference.

I had kinda the same problem as op. I suspect too little video ram on my gfx card was to blame as everything went smoothly after I set texture quality to medium (from high).

That actually works for most people, who reported that problem in my presence today.
However I can't find anything, that would justify the lags on my computer, that was capable of easily handling three max-graphics (in 1280x1024) clients (never tried more) at once before the patch and now can't make a warp or undock sequence without a 1-minute-lock-up even with only one client open...

Dennmoth, Was suffering the same problem (actually - even a consistent slide show would have been an improvement)but I made a simple adjustment as an earlier poster eluded to. try dropping the 'Texture Quality' to medium. A major improvement for me. it's on the right side pane of the Display and graphics tab. Tried setting the 'Present Interval' (left side pane) to 'Interval one".... no difference, so I set ti back to 'Interval Default' (have no idea wht it does anyways).
I've also tried using the 'Optimize Settings': 1)Optimize Settings for Memory, 2) Optimize Settings for Performance, and 3) Optimixe Settings for Quality.
Setting 1 made a slight difference and 3 made no difference at all. Setting 2 made the biggest difference but sacrificed the eye candy.
So my suggestion would be to lowering the 'Texture Quality' 1st and see what happens

I'll fiddle with the settings after school today and I'll report back with the results. God I hope it works. Eve is a killer game, and I would hate to see this be the end of it. ------ Dare to challenge me? |
