Any word on the WTFWHITEBAROFDOOM at the bottom of the fitting window, and the sudden framerate drop that opening the fitting window causes?
Yesterday evening I updated my ATI drivers to the latest available (see ATI/AMD website) - and the white bar is gone as well as the game is not stuttering/freezing any longer.

I was at work when Dominion was lanched and read all the problems people with ATI cards were having. So before I ever tried to log onto Dominion I downloaded the latest drivers.
Never had the big white bar but didn't help with the freezing when starting warp. Freezes when starting Warp, reaching top warp speed, coming out of warp and loading area after out of warp.
CCP said the ATI card problem would be fixed in a later patch.
I realizes Mac users have much bigger problems but I would like a bit better time table for ATI fix please. Game play sucks like this.

Gameplay is a lot smoother for me now. Not as before, but much better than the Dominion 1.0.0 release.
I've noticed effects seem less defined... difficult to see the tractor beam now, explosions and beams look way different... and my graphics settings were as before... no bloom, all medium on ATI. I have to pan around to find a sweet spot in the viewing angle to actually see weapon effects most of the time. (annoying as I like to visually watch who is shooting who)
Opening a window (chat, assets, wallet etc) no longer locks the gameplay up for a few seconds.
Sound seems the culprit of bad things for me right now. Launch drone sound plays, drones pop out and do their thing.. but I loose all other combat sounds for about 5 minutes :D
Audio popping, stuttering still present.. improved over the 1.0.0 release tho..
Overall, big improvement with this patch.. still has a way to go.
Edit: The new star field makes my eyes bleed. Guess that should not be in this thread. |

buddylist still takes 10 minutes to load
Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

ya my mac will not even download the mac client... even though i had eve on here before, i had to delete the eve because of it having issues, i thought it would fix the problem but it just caused some more. so ya CCP please look at the mac client it is not working at all.

Is there a way that i can download the Eve shortcut because ive downloaded the game but theres no short cut and i cant find it in my programs but i can in my computer documents but that just lets look at all the crap thats in the download.

I downloaded the full client rather than the patch. Get Dominion log-in screen & shows version 6.20.117956 in upper left but also shows incompatible version down at log-in box?

Uh ... just a heads up ... you might want to make sure you've got enough free hard drive space for two copies of EVE before you patch. I'm guessing that what happened with my attempt was that when I ran out of hard drive space on an older system I'm using ... what was left when the install aborted was destroyed beyond recovery ... so I'm looking at a full down load now.
I had 830 MB left when it choked and I got a drive full message from something. I'm guessing that EVE tried to write a file it has patched that was larger than that before deleting something that would have allowed dominion to fit.
Of course ... Dominion may just be bigger than Apocrypha ... ??
Anyway ... check your free space before you patch.

ok CCP there is one thing that you guys forgot tointall,....in the jukebox, you can load a playlist but most people ususally loat the same stuff for a couple days or longer. how about putting in a SAVE feature for the playlist!
CCP, so far the update looks good, I do ahve to caution you on one thing though.
What you guys in the tech deparment are doing is trying to push the limits of your game to the abilities of the hardware that people have. Loading up the system to the point that the game is not playable.
Before DOMINATION i was able to use the graphx settings on high and everythign turned on without any problems at all. now i got things scaled back quite a bit in the graphix end of tings just to make the game playable.
You got to remember that there are a lot of people out there that dont have the money to aquire these super high end machines to play eve on the highest settings just to enjoy the pretty scenery, to take into view the AWWW,...or the supersized planets with the super long loadtimes, and the glory of all the starfields. The job that you all have done with the game is more than appriciated,...but be warned,...your pushing the level of this game a bit further than what people are able to afford, not only in the game itself but the hardware also.
What im saying, is that if the people cant enjoy the game play, without making sacrafices, then they just wont play!
for someone to have to roll there graphixs back to play the game almost to "Wireframe" <--streahing it a bit< graphix then there is a problem here.
Just keep the little guy in mind,thats the meat and potatos of yoru gaming base,...im not sayig cater to them,...just keep them in mind when you dothese really big expantions like this.
Regardlsee of all this,...the game looks good,...i cant use my system on the high settings to really enjoy the supersized planets or the superb graphix,..ive got thngs throtteled back quite a bit ,...but its very playable, with a little system lag due to the vid card trying to load the bloated stuff.
all in all i give a generious +8 and a thumbs up for the effort.

No offence but I have to call bull**** on this one. It was only with Apocrypha that they dropped shader model 2.0 support. With dominion they have upgraded the version of directX (still not to the latest). Most of the complaints on this forum have involved people running very new hardware (ATI 48xx & 58xx cards). Its clearly not a hardware issue. These cards are more than capable of running this game at full HD settings with all settings on high.
What CCP should be doing is working with the card manufacturers to nail this issue on its head as quickly as possible. I'm not convinced its ATI specific since some nVidia owners are also complaining but ATI users seem to be more affected.
As for the gut with the wireframe models I think the guy just clicked on his Elite icon instead of Eve

For anyone having the empty jukebox delete your current desktop shortcut for eve and replace it with a manually created new one this should at least restore the default inflight playlist.
On another note it would be fantastic if the game would remember custom loaded lists beyond a given game session having to reset it every time is kind of tedious

Would you at least give motherships the hp boosts originally proposed? As they are, they can't be deployed and it's difficult just to move them around because of the high risk of getting instantly killed by a titan. As a result, they, and the characters they are on, are all but useless.
