I don't know where to begin. Shield/Armor hardeners are brain-scrambling and take up all the sound channels (so no other sounds can be heard unless you zoom way out). Getting the camera to a position where all the important sounds can be heard with respective balance between them is difficult and short lived. And now my combat sounds are far overshadowed by station sounds. WHILE IN SPACE. It saddens me that it will take at least until the next expansion to get a sound system that doesn't make me want to pull my hair out. But I just wanted to say that, for such a great, fun, dynamic game, the sound system is beyond a let down - it is an embarrassment and must be fixed.

I'm finding that the jukebox is cutting out for eve voice even though the options aren't selected in the menu, which is quite annoying.
Eve voice messed up quite a bit anyway at the moment.
The sound level for stations in space is horrible.
It's pretty deafening when you zoom right in on it, way out of sync with the rest of the effects volume.

I totally agree and have mentioned it before. In 2 out of 3 combat situations, idont have weapon sounds at all and its completely random. Also the musik is broken after dominion because after one song, it stops completely. I wonder how such a bug can go through betatesting? Or are we betatesting right now?

This is random and I've ran the logserver and reported the bug fully. Also the fact that the music starts in "stop" mode when you log in. Last time the jukebox had issues they fixed it rather quickly so hopefully they do the same this time.
As for the OP: I agree completely
The state of the sound in EVE since Apocrypha is positively infuriating. It is unbelievable the low standards that they have sunk to when it comes to the sound effects in this otherwise advanced program.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

LACK OF CONTENT WARNING!
This letter tells a story about power and politics and propaganda, about the tension between respectable, hardworking people and brain-damaged, self-satisfied dopeheads like EvE Sound Engine. It is a story about EvE Sound Engine's efforts to waste hours and hours of our time in fruitless conferences and meetings. It is worth noting at the outset that it keeps saying that its mistakes are always someone else's fault. This is exemplary of the nonsensical rhetoric and scaremongering that typifies the language of litigious, raving schmoes and other blasphemous, snappish simpletons. Let EvE Sound Engine's featherbrained flimflams stand as evidence that EvE Sound Engine's bons mots will have consequencesùvery serious consequences. We ought to begin doing something about that. We ought to ask EvE Sound Engine to rephrase its criticisms in a more reasoned way. We ought to spread the word that if we contradict it, we are labelled stentorian weasels. If we capitulate, however, we forfeit our freedoms.
The objection may still be raised that human beings should be appraised by the number of things and the amount of money they possess instead of by their internal value and achievements. At first glance this sounds almost believable yet the following must be borne in mind: EvE Sound Engine's reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth but only spleeny answers, uninformed resolutions to conflicts.
Similarly, only EvE Sound Engine can praise an institution that is as nerdy and uncongenial as it itself. Be patient; I won't ask you to take that on faith. Rather, I'll provide irrefragable proof that immature, daft converts to sexism often take earthworms or similar small animals and impale them on a pin to enjoy watching them twist and writhe as they slowly die. Similarly, EvE Sound Engine enjoys watching respectable people twist and writhe whenever it threatens to keep essential documents hidden from the public until they become politically moot. What really gets my goat is knowing that it is a cardinal principle that EvE Sound Engine's self-pitying prognoses cater to the lowest common denominator. Do give that some thought.
