After the last change you can not decline mission without standing loss - I'm alright with that After CCP fixes the current bug "quit mission" bug, you won't be able to quit mission without standing loss - I'm also alright with that. BUT The expiration of an accepted FW mission should never lead to standing loss. Not when you've got 12 (yes TWELVE) hours to finish it. In a hostile environment, with other players hunting you, often camping your mission beacon. Empire mission are in a safe environment and most of them expire after a WEEK, if you can not do it alone, you have countless options to try it again, with another ship, friends etc.
CCP should either let expired (but not quit) FW missions not affect standing OR make the expiration time longer, AT LEAST 3 days, so if you are camped, or your computer crashes, or you have a power failure, you can come back and try to do the mission again (still in a hostile environment).
To sum it up: you should never be able to choose your missions or your mission system, but you shoudl either have enough time to do them or the option to let them expire without standing loss.

But if i'm not mistaken its those missions that enable the system to be taken no?
So they can't extend the timer because otherwise people would end up having missions still ongoing in a system they no longer control :)
Its FW its not designed to be done at your own pace its designed to be a challenge and be done fast Rally Against Evil Site |

Edited by: Faelwenn Minarra on 03/12/2009 10:48:58 No theese missions do not enable anything. They are normal missions in that you warp to a becon and have a mission task. There is no bounty, no loot, only LP, and the the moment you hit "warp" to mission, the beacon light up for everyone in system. After recent changes if you get a mission in a system camped by the enemy you will effectively loose both factional and corporate standing, because you will be anable to do the mission at all. And the next day morning it will be too late. EDIT: spelling

Missions are not related to system occupancy, that's plexing.
Oh and CCP let's have some fun with this please, make the expiration time even shorter, kthx.

If you quit the mission it does not affect standings. If not completing a mission in FW had a standing hit there would be lot's of standing loss as often you can't complete a mission as the system or acc. gate gets camped.
I think it's a good system at present. The rewards are very good BUT as soon as you warp to your mission which are all in low sec a beacon shows up for everyone in system so they can warp to it to and either camp the gate or kill you in the mission. Pirates paradise.

Edited by: Faelwenn Minarra on 03/12/2009 11:15:33 Yes it does not right now, but it's in known issues, so i'ts probbaly going to be fixed soon(TM?). I'm just raising this issue BEFORE it will be impossible to do FW mission at all.
Once again - you should not be able to quit mission without standing loss, but you should be allowed to let the mission expire.

mission quiting and mission expiring is that same for system. You vgot even SAME message if some of it happen. Quiting missions is now almost the same as declining but missions system is broken a little, u dont know what kind of mission you are accepting cause its stuck with old one. ------------------------------------------------- Im the mighty and brave! I agree that mission expiration should change.
Either no standing loss for expiration, or extending the timer to match high sec missions would work.
The no standing loss is the better option. Having open mission sit around for a week, as with missions in high sec, could get messy quick. How many open missions do you thing would be left in FW space if they didn't despawn for a a week?
All of that aside, the current situation in which quitting a mission gives no standing loss is no different the being able to cherry pick before the patch. It is almost certain to be fixed.
No standing loss for expiration will allow people people to take FW missions without fear of wrecking their standings, but will not allow people to sort for the mission/system they want. All win imo. As it is, many people will simply go back to running high sec L4's.
