I've played EVE about 4 months now. It's a GREAT game, but I have a very frustating graphical problem.
It seems to be a texture issue, similar to this http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=944844. Stations and stargates are OK, but all the ships have rainbow-colored texture - usually green, pink, yellow and light blue.
I try to fix it via graphic contant settings. Switching texture quality to "low" helps, but it also crashed the whole game. And after crashing, I even cannot login again - I got only black screen. I had to uninstall & install EVE to get back into game 
CCP Shader Model 3 checker says that my graphics card supports Shader Model 3.0.
This issue happened both Apocrypha and Dominion.
Hardware: HP Compaq 6720s Laptop
Intel Celeron CPU 560 @ 2.13 GHz, 2 Gt RAM
Software: Windows Vista (SP2), all latest updates.
Graphics card is Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family.
DirectX: newewst version.

Be sure to update any and all drivers to the latest version, you may also want to try running the game in safe mode to see if the problem persists.
Unfortunatly EVE is not in the list of compatible programs with your graphics chipset.
Will look into it though and post further if someone doesnt beat me to it |

Well I tried this, here's what I get:
1) I cannot update Intel driver automatically in Intel's website.
I Got this report:
Product Detected: Intel« GME/GLE 965
Current Driver Installed: 7.14.0010.1322
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.
2) and when I browse driver via Windows Control Panel, and check updates it says driver is OK.

Hi there,
I have same gfx card, same driver and same problem. I putted all to low just shader to high. I do a change in game to medium and before log off i set it back to high. If i dont set shader to high again, i got black screen. Then i go to ...\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings\ and in prefs.ini change the value of shader to high (shaderQuality=3).

Thanks - try this but it doesn't help. Putting shader quality to medium or low solutes this graphical problem, but it also crashes EVE everytime. I also switch it in c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility, with same result. If shader quality is 0,1 or 2 I get a black screen, cannot login. So it must be = 3, but then my ship has still very colourful...
