Edited by: nihlanth on 03/12/2009 22:10:27 Its been a long time since I have stepped foot in 0.0; since I have been away from eve for a year. I was just wondering what are the usual gate camps like these days? Are they massive blobs with multiple carriers and 50+ battleships? Or do you usually run into the 'small' 5-15 man bc/hac gang with a few battleships scattered about?
Basically, what are your individual experiences in 0.0 when you encounter a gate camp?

Sometimes you run into a cap ship or two on the gate, though generally carriers and such.... and just as often the carrier may be off-grid or at a POS and the fighters are on the gate.
With the damage output of Bombers (both from torps... yes, they fire torps now) and the bombs themselves... its not uncommon to see gate camps of ~10 people entirely in cloakers.... rapiers, bombers, cloaked dictor or hictor (or both).... perhaps an arazu for the long-range point... plus a Falcon for lockdown and perhaps a logistics ship for friendly buffing..... with 3 bombers available, this is capable of killing a couple of BS travelling from A to B... and can easily cloak up if a larger group come through.
Unless there is a major fleet engagement in the area, most gate camps are still on the smaller size (10-15).... though at 0.0/highsec entry points (like Orvolle), anything is possible.

Usually small roaming gang that spends some time camping different gates and some time moving around. A few of any of the following: hacs, recons, afs, inties, and usually a light interdictor that sometimes has a cloak so you wouldn't even know it's there by using a scout. Usually sitting there for a while observing them trying to catch other people flushes out the presence of the dictor. Heavy camps tend to sit on gates that lead directly from highsec into lowsec so then they know that they can jump their precious battleships right into a highsec system if trouble shows.

Step 1 Apply a lachesis that is one shade lighter than your warp bubble. Dot it on over any blemishes or under-'ceptor circles and blend with your fingertips or a makeup sponge. If your lachesis tends to cake, apply 'ceptor cream first.
Step 2 Choose warp bubble that matches your skin tone exactly. Apply it in dots over the central part of your camp, then blend it out with a makeup sponge or your fingertips until it covers your entire camp (see Related eHows).
Step 3 Use a loose or pressed remote sensor booster to keep warp bubble and lachesis on longer. Use pressed remote sensor booster to touch up when you're away from home.
Step 4 Do your HACs next. Use remote sensor boostered HAC shadow on brows instead of pencil, which can often look unnatural. Apply it with a hard, slanted brush.
Step 5 Choose three colors of 'ceptor shadow: light, medium and dark. Use the dark only to line your upper 'ceptorlid, in a fairly thin line along the upper lashes. Use the medium shade for the crease and the lightest shade for the area under the HAC. There are many variations on 'ceptor shadow application techniques (see Related eHows).
Step 6 Apply 'ceptorliner. Use a cake 'ceptorliner with a damp, thin liner brush, or an 'ceptorliner pencil, and line the lower lid below the lashes. Line only the outer two-thirds of the lower lid, or all the way across if you're trying to achieve a darker look. Line all the way across the upper lid (just above the lash line and as close to the lashes as possible), or start the line where your lashes begin.
Step 7 Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes, in two thin coats to avoid clumpiness. Choose brown mascara if your coloring is fair; black or brown-black works well for darker coloring. Or try a colored mascara such as navy or plum for fun, but don't go too bright if you want to be taken seriously.
Step 8 Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and apply blush to the apples or below, whichever you prefer. If you have to blend in blush, it's too bright.
Step 9 Choose a lipstick color that's suited to your skin tone and that's perfect for your day look. You can mix colors and textures to suit your moods and your outfits (see Related eHows).
Step 10 Line lips after applying lipstick, not before. That way you won't end up with a dark circle of lip liner after your lipstick has worn off. Avoid combining very dark lip liner and pale lipstick.

All great replies, thank you.
I see that the recurring theme is cloakers. It makes sense ... why fight in some expensive slow battleships when your entire gang can lob a few bombs and cloak out?

Camping is already boring. Camping in a logistic without even a chance to get on a km? Srsly?
So no. I rarely see those kind of camps. It's usually an inline bubble (or a few more), some light, fast support stuff, maybe a vaga or two, sometimes a cloaked falcon or rapier.
Most camps are there because someone is horribly bored but doesn't have time for a roaming op somewhere into hostile territory. ----------------------------------------------
