My experience is exactly as this. I needed help in a L3 mission with a ton of battleships in it just today and got help no problem.

Don't give up just yet.
Stay loose, try not to fly anything you can't afford to lose. Learn salvaging when possible, as the income you get from the bits helps. I wish Eve didn't have such a steep learning curve, but there is a reason why it is so steep: this game is a sandbox. If you enjoy blowing up rats, use agents that give you that type of mission. Get into Destroyers for Level 1 missions as soon as possible, they will become much easier. Once you've done enough missions and learned enough skill to properly fit and fly a Battlecruiser, save up enough money to trick out 2 of them, and then go on to level 2 missions. Keep doing this through the level 3 missions. By now you should be able to earn a decent chunk of ISK during a few hours of playtime. Start saving for a Battleship or two, and learning the involved skills. Once ready move on to level 4 missions. The money really starts coming in then. By the time you are getting bored with level 4 missions, you will probably have the skills and confidence to find a nice, helpful 0.0 alliance to go make some real money with (yes, they do exist).
I wish you luck. :)

Typical "I suck at life and now at Eve, it's everyone else's fault" post...
There is good advice in this thread. Take it or leave...

OP:
Doing level two missions with a Tristan will get you killed eventually unless you are very experienced, fast, fitted to the ying yang etc. I've lost quite the few Tristans on level two's and decided it just isn't worth it. Sure you can do some of them but you will eventually get one that will be insta-death. I had a L2 last week got killed a few times then asked my corp mates to help. I had two batlecruisers helping me, well actually doing all the work coz my ship woudn't survive more than a few seconds. One BC had to flee for refit and repair while the other took a beating. Dont give up.

Edited by: MaxxOmega on 05/12/2009 23:45:17 Wow I can't believe there are so many people here actually trying to help. If I lost a brain cell for every ship I lost, I'd be r3tarded. Oh wait I am...
