A few points:
1: Chaos from Order has folded completely into MANY.
2: We're expensive, probably more expensive than other merc units out there and more expensive than you want to pay. Don't complain about the pricing, just hire someone else.
3: We accept empire wardecs, highsec tower takedowns of any size. We don't operate in lowsec for tower takedowns.
Costs: 1 Billion isk per week flat fee on groups under 100 members. 2 Billion per week flat fee on groups over 100 members.
POS Costs: Wardec fee + 250M per small, 500M per Medium, 1B per large takedown.
We're very large and doing this on a smaller price is just ridiculous. We're not for everybody or even for most people. We are available though.

I love a corp with high efficiency, but I absolutely hate that people base their opinions of a merc corp on that. Base your opinions of a merc corp on how much they kill- not how much they lose. That's what counts.

High efficiency matters. People don't usually hire mercs to give their enemies good battles, fun fights, and pew pew entertainment. |

Edited by: Alekseyev Karrde on 05/12/2009 03:14:11 Link your killboard in your OP. I did take a gander though. I cant comment about the size of your alliance cause i'm not in game to check, but if you have losing campaigns against MERCS and REPO (srsly??) you might want to make sure you charge less than those groups while you're still starting out.
Good luck though.
EDIT: i also advise getting ahead of the troll curve and put out explanations around the k/d of exhumer, barges, freighters, and industrial command ships on your board. Or at least have one ready if anyone gives your grief about it ---

Maybe you missed it.. but we've been mercs under the Chaos From Order banner longer than Noir. has existed :P A lot of groups have come and gone and changed dramatically in that time.
As for the trolls, I could care less. We're not asking you to hire us, just advising former clients that we're once again available.

Hi.
Let's go through and check how you rank in comparison to other merc corps. This isn't a troll, this is an honest to god look at them.
Internal Anarchy: THESE ***GOTS REPPED ONE OF MY ****ING WARTARGETS AND LOST ME A SOLO KILL IN A RANIS VERSUS A ZEALOT. ABSOLUTE ****S.
Having said that, they have good efficiency. They, like most other merc corps don't take even fights and I therefore don't think very highly of them. Have seen members use neutral RR to turn an almost even fight into something that's largely in their favour as well which is a bit ****.
They get a C+. (I factored their neutral RR ***gotry into this)
REPO: lol. REPO have been living on their reputation for a long time now. I'm sure there's a few people who can PvP well in the whole alliance but for the most part they're a complete joke. HOWEVER, they DO bring even fights from time to time. Props to them for that.
Other than that, they're absolute ***gots who let me **** around for a few hours waiting for a POS op then went "Oh, we don't actually want to do this, we're friends with them.". Thanks REPO for backing out on a contract and making me wait.
C+ (would be lower, but taking even fights says a lot about how you play this game imo)
Noir.: I feel that Noir. are terribly overrated for PvP prowess now. They're pretty good at what they do, but I'd be surprised to see them take on a Rote Kappele, CH, or 0utbreak (or any other actually good at PvP corp/alliance) gang of equal size in the first place, and then be amazed again to see them come out on top.
However, they're a bunch of very nice mentlegen and conduct their business in a professional manner for the most part.
They score a B.
Underworld Excavators: P nice guys, now have Maelstrom Crew in their alliance too. Decent pvpers, good at smaller gang stuff and they look like they take decent fights. Not sure what they're like on contracts, but when I worked with them they seemed pretty decent.
Give them a B- because their killboard efficiency is a little awry.
Mercenaries for Hire: Seem OK. Decent efficiency. From what I remember of COM-STAR they were a bunch of ****s who wouldn't engage us with equal odds. The Mercenaries for Hire killboard looks much the same, and their efficiency is average.
They do seem to be good at what they do though.
B.
Freedom Fighters Have a lot of kills/losses, this is mostly from their time in 0.0
Their recent killboard shows them taking semi even fights and coming out ontop, also seem to have them losing ships to small numbers which makes it seem that they take fights which is also p cool.
They don't seem to do well consistently on contracts from what I've previously seen B-
AND FINALLY Chaos from Order: Okay, looking at your killboard it looks like there's a few ok fights, but most of it is just ganks. Cool, but ganking people doesn't make you good at this game. Your losses show this, as you are losing ships to 2/3 man gangs. Pretty funny tbh.
You also have a terrible opening post, and an attitude that says "I AM BETTER THAN LOTS OF PEOPLE" when the truth be told - you're not. You're like me, highly average in every respect.
You rank a C so far.
I at least have the good grace to admit I'm f-ing terrible at this game
In a world of merc mediocrity, you're not doing very well. Perhaps don't be such a bunch of elitist ***gots next time you post and people will be more positive to your exceedingly average merc corp.

wat!?! a b-? they are so bad either they are no longer getting contracts (though they claim otherwise) or they are just not putting them as a contract on their board so they dont look as horrible as they are.
5 Ships killed (0.4B ISK) 4 Ships lost (0.4B ISK) 48.98% Efficiency (ISK)
for a week that is almost finished.
of their 7 contracts (that is not including their mostly harmless contract which they say they were hired to test response times)they have a positive effciencey on 4 of them for a contract total of 159 kills (7.48isk(b)), 57 losses (7.69isk(b)). thats not even to get into the kinda sketchy employer reviews that they are very quick to attempt to discredit, even after giving partial refunds
yep, deffinatly a b-.. wtf mickey :-p
oh and sadly, still prolly better than chaos from order..

Fun facts, since ya left Mick we beat Rote in the alliance tournament and met them again in Syndicate for some pretty fun even fights some of which we won some of which we didnt.
Have fought CH plenty of times in Syndicate, though very rarely on even terms cause they're big and good and we were small and struggling back then.
Havnt run into Outbreak but considering their most of their US TZ used to be in Noir. they're probably just overrated ;p Nah, have lots of respect for 0utbreak and would love to fight them some day.
On contract though, as any good merc knows, you're not out there to give people engagements they can feel good about when they log off. Pretty much the exact opposite of that... ---

I LOL'd.
Been in plenty of 'fair fights' in Noir... never had a problem with it. That's not what we're hired for though, and you know it. We're hired to inflict pain, and make targets unhappy. Giving targets fair 'fun' fights is not what we're hired to do. And, you, of all people, should know that we haven't ever backed down from an honestly even fight.
TBH I dunno what your problem is, Mickey, but you're basically full of crap. http://noir.pinacoderm.com/killboard/?a=kill_related&kll_id=7102 http://noir.pinacoderm.com/killboard/?a=kill_related&kll_id=7339 <-- pay attention to what's making our numbers look higher than theirs.
And as you know this isn't that unusual. We often have 'fair' fights. We honestly don't go out LOOKING for fair fights... again... not our job to give targets a fair fight, our job is to kill them. But we don't shy away from them either. We WILL, however, vanish if someone brings a blob our way (as many of our targets have learned to their dismay).
We don't give up kills if we can avoid it, it's not our job to give freebies to the target. But we also don't shy away from a good clean fight when one presents itself.
TBH I dunno where all your animosity comes from, nor do I give a ****. But your honestly is, frankly, lacking.
And, to quote an age old saying in eve: If its a fair fight... you're doing it wrong.
As to Manifest Destiny? I wish them all the best in their future as Mercs. I don't really care about their efficiency, if their employers have been happy with their return on investment in them... that's all that matters.

Oh sure, I know that. That's why I said you do your job well :P Didn't really have many even engagements while I was there (apart from NSPTA which I managed to miss completely despite being on regularly) but as Taram points out, there have been a few since I've moved on which is pretty cool.
But this wasn't meant to be a thread about Noir. or a thread about Underworld Excavators, or a thread about any other mercenary corp. The list I compiled was purely to demonstrate that there are a myriad of other merc corps out there, a lot of whom are good at what they do, and that the OP has no reason to be so high and mighty about their position in the marketplace.

I think it's obvious and quite clever from the ops point of view, charge a lot of isk and you appeal to the type of client who thinks "ooh expensive, they must be good" - unfortunately not every client researches the Corp they hire to the extent of our illustrious cnp community... -------------------------

I am not sure what most people here are talking about really. If I were a carebear and wanted to hire an alliance to kill people who were harassing me. I wouldn't care if the people I hired lost 500 ships. As long as they were killing and causing the other people losses, while stopping them from bothering me. Since when does taking a pos down have a kill death ratio. If you can do it you can do it. The real question is, are the mercs doing what you want. If they are then that's all that matters.
Best of luck in your contracts.

as has been said before, sure, mercs are hired to kill.. BUT to complement that, it is to kill so they want to quit eve or stop whatever caused the wardec to begin with (unless otherwise stated in the contract)
therefore, if you are killing even 100 of them a day, for 3b, but lose a navy mega with all faction or officer mods, and it winds up being >3b (yes im going for the extremes to prove a point) you just financed all of your wt's losses which is not what you are hired to do..
so high effinency means killing them, and lowering their moral.. unless you are joe phoenix
edit for taram: tbh, i have nothing against you or noir. but mickey never said anything bad about you or noir. until you (read taram) started saying stuff about him. but.. im going back to the f-off threads :-D

TBH I have no issue with Mickey. The only thing I ever said about Mickey was when someone said he should come back to Noir. I responded that he wouldn't be welcome.
It was an honest answer to an honest question. If that's 'starting saying stuff' about him then I apologize.

isnt mercenary work the dumbest in eve?? like mining?
i mean u get some weakass to pay u to shoot at some other weakass just coz ur too stupid to find gameplay of ur own!?
instead u guys try and make all these hilarious posts trying to make ur corp look like its making isk and its a solid business. jesus christ how old r u guys??
anyways! shut ur trap and go take some space u coward(s)!
most mercwork is performed by regular corps anyways! im pretty sure that less than 10% of the combined so called "merc contracts" are done ingame with no need to look like a teenage moron postign about it!
so u guys can have a nice day and then fouk off

I just have to point out.
When we're being paid hard isk to destroy someone's ships, why would we want to give them a fair fight? Obviously its hard to blow someone up if they know a blob's waiting, however I'd think anyone would rather use a "fair fight" as a trap as opposed to an actual "fair fight".
This isn't the Queen de Marquesberry Online.
Also: The only time there's a fair fight is if ships/numbers and skillpoints distribution are the same on both sides Can we just stop using the term 'fair fight' please? ♥

I think we've de-railed this topic enough ;) Let Manifest Destiny use their thread for what it's intended for. If you want to discuss Noir. matters you know where our public forums are. No need to clutter someone else's thread with this.
Or just start another topic about it here... but kinda rude to keep hijacking an advertizement thread.
