Edited by: Apolyton on 05/12/2009 05:00:19 Loot logging seems to be a valuable thing for mining gangs, but if I put my ore in a can and then in another can it counts double.
Best thing would be, if the ore counts only once when mined by the strip miners.
What do you think CCP?

Why do you place it in 2 cans?
All you need to make sure is that the miners place it into a can once and leave it and only take the ore values from the miners since they will then have the correct values. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

Let's say I have a gang of 2 or 3 miners and one of them is occasionally hauling the stuff away. The ore for the hauler counts twice.

I'm afraid there's no good way to achieve this in the system. Typically during such an op you have separate characters hauling though? You could count the ore just for those folks to get your total?

Wow, CCP responds to THIS on the technical forum, but can't even post to acknowledge game-stopping bugs and ask for more info/suggest solutions in other threads?

On the game-stopping bugs, they need to consult the developers, run tests, and analyze a lot of information. If they jump the gun and throw out a wrong response, it will **** players off. If they post just saying "We're looking into it" it will **** off players. There's really no way for them to win.
The Unit pursues invention, manufacturing, mining, and research. Evemail us if you need anything related to Science and Industry. |

They could try hiring competent programmers and testers from the start.

This is just...
If you feel that CCP isn't hiring competent programmers and testers you're free to start your own Sci-fi MMO to see how easy it is. It's one thing to point out bugs and issues and have opinions on their priority. But to say that CCP programmers are incompetent is to massively underestimate the complexity of programming something like EVE. ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost.
