So while i was awaiting market activity i was browsing all the trade skills, im only about a month into trading on an alt and had a rough guess at around 250+ total orders. Does/has anyone actually fill all the orders? I would suspect that having so many buy and sell orders at once would get extremely confusing. Im finding it hard enough to keep track of the prices on my 14 orders! And any tips on how to manage them?

I use all 305 orders because I have goods spread out over an entire region. Go into the market options and turn on order highlighting. It will make your life so much easier. |

Many times you use orders that you don't track that closely. Like block orders or you due to the competition you need several sell and/or buy orders on the same item. It all adds up pretty quick. |

I use all 305 orders on my trade alt in Amarr. I could use way more than that too. x_x - Rei |

Id settle for 6000 orders per char =)
kidding, I honestly believe 305 is enough to make it a fulltime job as it is. |

It is pretty rough, but still. I could do with perhaps 500. :o - Rei |

Well after asking this question i tried out some different stuff and im currently using 45 orders which is my current trained max because i definitely did not expect to use so many! But the wallet flash is through the roof and i love it haha! I am rather scared for the 300+ orders though, managing 45 seems to be a nightmare at times! |

CCP Diagoras tweeted on 29 April 2012:
"There are 20 characters with more than 500 market orders in place."

Maybe there is a way to get more than 305 buy/sell orders. |

Possibly referring to expired "shadow orders" (if that's still possible) which may contribute to actual number in place (internally as seen by CCPs database)
When order expires before filled its not shown on market anymore, but it is still there until next DT and cleanup that happens then (at least this was how it was before). Any requests for next competitor's order would fill the expired one with funds being duly given to the owner in case of sell order.
So in theory .. right after DT one could make 1D expiry order and then when it expired a day after it would persist until the DT after that.
Yesterday I encountered a shadow order whilst buying some minerals (buying from an order that doesn't decrease in quantity after you made the purchase or by lower quantity than expected)
Now if this mechanic is still around (appears to be) whether it actually lets you break the limit temporarily i.e. does expired order slot get returned immediately to you or after DT "cleanup"
I'm not clear on. |

Whether you use hundreds of market orders is highly dependent on trading strategy. With some baskets of items, you can flip billions of isk in a day with just a few dozen orders. With another basket, you could very well hit against the 305 limit and still want to place even more orders.
Similarly, Margin Trading can range from vital to useless depending on strategy. |

Could you get over 500 orders by creating a one man corp and use the corps orders to increase your volume? |

That seems like something CCP would make. -RubyPorto

Have 2 chars filling up on slots, main char has hit 305 several times, then I move over slow moving stuff to my alt. That one grows steadely. |

With my main and a couple of my alts, my active sell orders are well over 1000. I personally can't handle anymore than that but I am sure there are many people who laugh at such a number. I am a nobody when it comes to the market (and the game in general). |
