Your character gets deleted from the game. Known glitch but the logs show nothing. Sorry about your loss and wish you a quick recovery. Apology for any inconvenience it may cause.

A real answer - As soon as your client disconnects from the server, the ship warps to a safe spot. Considering this is a server crash, the server may not respond to this mechanism.
So if you og back on and find that you have no more ship, you could always petition it.

IF it is a network issue the game is still running and it will be as if you are just not giving commands to your ship. Sorry.

... the probes cannot locate hidden hamsters.
... you know there is a huge party in the server room.
... WWF have just released the hamsters from the cave.
... the power lines to the servers have adjusted to be connected the cappuchino / coffee machines.
... you where happy you only had a frig in the space.
... you are able to say goodnight to your girl / boy friend who where already in the bed.
