There is only 1 Jovian in ISD, the character was created for an event and to give an in-character presence to Concord, Aurora and the Jovians. The other Jovians that show up from time to time are Devs and the characters played are generally event related.
The Jovian ships that are in the game currently are place holders. The stats on the ships (especially the Enigma) are *not* balanced and are not intended to be representative of the stats that will eventually be available to players. When the opening of the Jovian empire is drawing near, more ships with balanced stats will be tested and deployed.

speaking of which- i was the lucky one to manage to loot the jovian loot from veniels ship when he was killed at the last jovian related event (the body parts and complex fullerene when poor misu got decimanted)
i got some pics of it- anyone kno what its worth?? */me pokes GM's/ISD*

So is it certain that Jovians will be added to the game as a playable race, or will only Jovian ships eventually become availible for purchase?

The current plan is for the Jovian race to be available as a player race in the future, Jovian space to be open to travel and Jovian ships/tech available to the player base. As has been stated before, the manner in which this will be deployed will be announced when we are closer to bringing the content in.

Wow....thanks guys. I really didn't think I'd get that much of a response for this thread. This only further blosters my belief that EVE is light years ahead of the compition. Not just for the open ended gameplay but for the community itself. Thank you all for the info, the screenshots, heh the vids, and also thank you Valar, the obvious Jovian  , I saved your portrait.
