I'm too lazy to decide whether or not the idling miner infront of me is macromining. He gets podded either way. . !probe species -> class *Created remove(naturalGas) spcsArbtr * 01 Display("The Created walk among you") |

something i discovered while playing ffxi is that the staff dont really care about things like this, in ffxi there were ton of gil farmers, fish bots, ect... but in all reality they made more for the game then the regular players. between subscriptions to their own accounts (which btw was a ton) and the people that they kept paying their subscription cuz they could buy gil (a decent amount of people) the ffxi people just looked the other way
expect ccp to do the same, these miner macro people bring in money for them in more ways than just their own accounts, the only way they will be banned is if someone makes a big old fuss about it (not just one petition pointing it out thats not going to get u anywhere)
now as for the casual player macro mineing, its the same thing, they pay money for their account so why ban them when they are doing no harm? unless these folks end up haveing a large impact on the market or threten a larger amount of people money to be removed from the game than what they pay, dont expect anything to come of it

any of you bright ones ever read the EULA well here is an excerpt
You may not share your Account with anyone, or allow anyone other than you personally (or your minor child, if you have registered an Account on behalf of your minor child) to access or use your Account. Joint or shared ownership or use of an Account by more than one user is prohibited.
so your my brother was doing it is also breaking the rules

hold on perrin
i saw u could register on behalf of a minor given u hold responsability over the account
but in other words thats not really my point i meant in general if you come with excuse and stick to it if you dont know what i mean in the same scenario get a friend to claim you dont speak english thus you ignored the gm and got banned because he thought u were macroing see what i mean Respectfull Mermaid of Curse Alliance |

You agree to EULA every time you log on. If you can't understand it (or your brother) - that's your problem, not theirs.
Obviously can see where you trying to go with this, but the reality is that if you ain't doing something wrong, no one gonna come after you... -- Thread Killer

macro mining is easy to prove given an hour and a stopwatch.

the problem is that macro mining is one thing, and bannable macro minning is another, since bannable macro mining is the macro mining in which you are afk. although third party programs are forbidden, it's not a bannable offense for someone to be in front of his computer but not bothering to move the ore every minute. Why ? Because you can't proove it...
tbh I don't care to see miners use a third party program in order to avoid boring repetitive tasks but I care when they do this with a lot of ships to sell it on ebay.
Dear friendly customer... Can I have your money ?

ok i agree the eula everytime i log on but i dont see how that affects what i just said
if u understand what i said correctly then u would realize there is not 100% proof way to proove you used macro you would understand that if you know how macro works stop watch cant fully proove it there is lag to consider and all sorts of excuses
note though having 5 accounts with characters named goroon1 goroon2 etc... is pretty obviouse i agree still what real effects is macro to eve strip mining 1.0 space hasnt been trouble for newbies only vets to eve that come to empire and mine with 10 harvy¦s and 8 miner2¦s i remember people naggin that it was unfair awhile back doing just that
im beginning to realize this subjects is only going round in circles and if this wasnt a proplem something else would be people cant take it when others are making way more isk than them
we all are free to play the game as we wish if enough people dont like something its an exploit and gets banned capitalism in its pure form

You're missing the point. Ultimately it is the GM's decision. If the GM has good reason to suspect someone of using macros, then they have a good reason to ban them. There may not be a 100% fool-proof way to know, but there are signs that point to it. ---------------------------------- I <3 mining. |
