I know that EVE has a long life spawn yet to be reached.
BUT...
I would like to know where are the minds of our beloved DEV's in 5 years time.
I dream alot for a World based war game. A MOORPG where each player will command a tank/plane/navy vessel.
2 to 4 factions raging war at a virtual planet. Much like EVE but like a C&C EVE if you get the picture.
I have some cool ideas for game mecanics but i don't want to bother you with them.
I would only like to know if you would also like such a game to be released by CCP in a very long future.

I don't think mmorpgs will last all that long as a genre. Alot of people play games to forget about real life problems, and the deeper the game gets, the more problems you have to deal with in-game. People want to be Luke Skywalker, not those "other guys that die". And in mmorpgs, not everyone can be Luke, sorries.

I hope that CCP does not close the game down like EA would. I am sure another company would love to take it over. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

What?! Then maybe these are not the games for you. I'd love for it to get ever more complex.

I think I disagree... for starters, they have lasted quite a while already... and before EVE they all sucked (har har imo only) but a lot of people played them anyways. Because while not everyone can be luke, the "realness" of it makes it easier to get into. Or so I think anyways. Plus it serves as a surrogate social life for nerds with no personal interaction skills in the "real world", and for PvP games like this one it gives you an endless supply of real people who are more fun to belittle when you beat them and provide you with more challenge than any AI ever will. Or at least less repetative tactics. +++
It's called "low security space" for a reason. |
