Seriously whats the $15 a month going to? Because it definitely aint development.
Any plans on upgrading this game to have some basic mmo features? Or are we left with texture updates for the rest of this games existance at $15 a month?

I partially agree with OP.
CCP usually launches new expansions as "omg content" and then there are 4-5 minor changes, certain fixes, some UI revamp and a new login screen.
kthx to CCP but those don't justify naming it "new expansion". bring us important new ships, bloodlines, social interaction, storyline integrated on actual gameplay, etc etc.
this time we are getting the new sov changes which is the main point of Dominion. But still it feels like "not enough" to name it an important upgrade.
anyway its wonderful CCP keeps upgrading the game "for free" unlimitedly.

Thats just ignorance, you clearly havnt read all the dev blogs and how significant the changes are.
In most MMO's you just get a new level cap, some new skills and a few new areas... an Eve expansion puts an expansion from other mmo's to shame. Expansions on any MMO is just a 'bolt-on' Eve expansions change the very fabric of the game.

What basic MMO features is Eve missing? The ones present in most other games that Eve doesn't have (level grinding, PvP flags, raiding for gear, instancing, DKP) I can't say I actually miss. Actually the lack of many of those things is what makes Eve great.

What MMO features are you looking for?
Nearly every patch has little for me, I'm an industrialist / mission running player with no real ambitions for PvP, I've lived in 0.0 but am happy in empire, running missions etc, but I still enjoy playing the game.
The $15 a month is going to ccp's beer fund for the fanfest (you have seen the prices in iceland haven't you? ) that as well as networking costs, staff costs, office rent, advertising, investment in technology, oh yeah and they've still got to turn a profit, cos when a business stops making a profit then the business stops.
If you wanna quit the game then go, biomass your char and don't let the door hit you on the ar$e on the way out, whining on the forum ain't gonna change much in your mind anyway.

Wait, new epic arcs, new moons and planets and a whole new sov change as well as new faction ships with full change to every single one of the old ones isnt enough for you?
