I see many fits that make use of both a scrambler and a disruptor. What is the advantage of having both? Won't one do the job fine enough?

One is for range / initial point, the other is for killing MWDs.

Warp Disruptor is for when you first warp to the Target, the Scrambler is for when you get into takel range or AC/Blaster Range(less than 10km) because it provides 2 points, and the disruptor only adds one Pew Pew! |

Not quite. While the added points are always nice, the real reason for adding the scram is that it nukes the targets MWD. Assuming they have one fit, the scram will slow down the target more than a web would, and has the added bonus of adding 2 points to the warp scramble. Basically, it's a better web. |

This is correct.

This is wrong. The extra point means next to nothing. Shutting down the MWD is invaluable.

Well, it does stop the "wtf, he was stabbed!?!" exclamations after they get away.

Its also sneaky to have both on some ships, As some pilots are smart enough to wait and see if you disrupt them at 24km, if you do they will often assume you do not have a scram fit as well and enter that range, at which point you can surprise them with it. --- I am taking pre orders for Navy Armageddons |

I run both basically to shut down the MWD, this is so common now, using a AB over a MWD is a pretty good option. Yes it does provide the 3rd point but in most cases it is to kill the MWD. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Lol? Any remotely competent cruiser / BC pilot should BBQ haulers before they get into warp. No need to even point them tbh.

There's a few advantages to running both.
First, It's gotta be range.. a t2 disruptor will get 28km heated. Catching that initial point on some of the bigger gates is gold.
Next would be catching the confident warp core stabilized pilots thinking they're only going to run into solo pilots with 1pt. 3pts = gold.
Can't forget about the ability to own MWD. Then there's the cap consumption.. the 9km, MWD owning 2pt is far less stressing on capacitor then it's long range brother.
hmm.. yeah.
