So I tried running this mission before, and was fine until the Battleship at the end that's apparently immune to Battlecruisers or something. Wasn't a huge deal, just dropped the mission and moved on.
Well tonight, I got Driving the Wedge again, and wasn't going to go through all that again. Went to decline it so I could move on to something else. I decline it and...get it again, only for the other race. Even the text essentially said "We know you said no, but we think you meant yes, let me do this please."
Does getting Driving the Wedge essentially put a halt to L3 missions for that agent for 4 hours if I don't want to take a standing hit?

Before the Dominion patch you used to have to turn this mission down twice to get rid of it but it was possible to do so without having to wait the 4 hours in order not to get a standings hit. I was offered this mission a few days ag othough and after refusing the first part I was hit with the 4 hour timer so it might have changed. I'd be interested to know how you get on as I'd like to know if it has changed or if I just had some one off bug.

Yeah, same for me. Declined to first one, got the same mission again for the other race, and had the 4 hour timer. Really annoying

If you read the options carefully, you discover that there is no option to decline the first mission. Your only options are to accept the mission (kill the ambassador) or offer to do the opposite (kill the other ambassador instead). If you choose the second, it looks like you declined it, but the next offer is the reverse of the mission. Basically you get the choice of which battleship you want to fight. If the first turn down counts as a declined mission, that's a change, and probably not intentional.
Now personally, I always found the Minmatar battleship to be the tougher fight, but your mileage may vary. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

done this numerous times (the gallente version) and every time in a drake, admittedly the drake pilot is pretty well skilled with missiles, but still doable.

The issue isn't really if it's doable it's if it's declinable. This is a faction mission and plenty of us dont really want to end up KOS to gallente and minmatar.
