Hi all,
First I have to say I love Eve Online, it's a great game.
But then I must express how tired I am of trying to get FSAA working. In my opinion, any game should support it, as nothing will ever look good without it. Simple fact. Eve does not, and has to be damn good for me to put up with it. How come you haven't realized this. What made you not include such an option within the game (even if it had to be a choice of that or HDR (I know what I would choose)?
Anyway, enough whining. I had FSAA working earlier, with the help of nHancer (which seems to be the accepted and only solution). But that was on XP, now I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64, and no matter what I do, it simply doesn't happen.
I have mostly been focusing on these settings:
In Eve Online:
24bit color with 8-bit alpha (also tried 24-bit color)
32bit z-buffer with 8-bit stencil
HDR off
Bloom low/off
In Enhancer:
Any FSAA setting there is
Compatibility: off or 0x00000045
HDR on or off
Anisitropic filtering: various settings.
I have tried the nHancer "write to registry" function (which shouldn't really be necessary), I have tried removing eve.exe from the exe-list (leaving only exefile.exe). I have rebooted, restartet Eve, reapplied settings, restarted, left nHancer running, sweared and smashed my head against the keybard. I have never seen a glimpse of anti-aliasing. At all.
I'm running the following:
Eve: Latest (duh) (Dominion 6.20.119404)
nHancer: 2.5.7
Windows: Windows 7 Ultimate X64 (AMD Athlon 64 dual-core)
Display adapter: PointOfView nVidia 8800 GTX 512MB
nVidia driver version: 8.16.11.9107
Please please please can someone help me run my favorite game the way it should be?

I play at 1920x1080 and AA is certainly less of an issue to get running at that res and above, but I have an ATI card so it always works but I am yet to get profiling working so it only applys when EVE runs.
But for Nvidia cards i have used the trick of downgrading the drivers to a older version and then applying AA. Try the 186/185 drivers and not the latest 191/195.

Aniso filtering: 4x or 8x (don't req more)
GAMMA: On
Super Transparency AA: Enabled
Uncheck Enhance.
Texture filtering: high quality
LOD: clamp
Manually paste in: f0000045 into AA compatiblity
HDR: On.
Also clear your cache files. Bizarrely this works.
Supersampling AA makes text aliased too, so avoid; and Combined AA works great but chugs to a halt sometimes, so avoid that too on the 8800.

*** EDIT *** use the global settings not profiles till you get it right. Then link in eve.exe and evefile.exe
Hi, I followed your instructions carefully (including the edit). No luck.
Can I ask,
- What version nVidia drivers do you use? I'm currently on 195.62. The other guy suggested I should downgrade, is it worth it?
- I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Should that matter?
- Is there anything else that could possibly have an influence?

down grade the driver, im useing 175.16 and seems to hold for awhile then i need to repatch it lol still testing

I downgraded to 186 today from 197. The 19x series doesn't work with eve and AA, apparently.
So I would recommend getting 186 and try that...
It's worth a shot because I agree the game looks crappy without AA.
