with the recent ideas on adding more servers, im coming up with my own idea, and im hoping for alot of input and support:
It basically works like this: Everybody has their own private server to play on, when they so chose. But they can always switch to the main server at will. That way, everybody could mine and rat in 0.0 and low sec, without having to fear interference of other players. and when they are safe on isk, they can join the fun on the main server.

What the **** am I reading?
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. EVE has devs that care about sound? (Ha ha ha! Gotcha. It actually doesn't!) |

A single player version would be welcome imo. But I don't see why one would need a server for it. You could basically run it locally. And being allowed to move stuff from the sp version to the mp version would be extremely bad. Could use the same character but none of the assets could move.
That way there would be no harm to the current tq economy.

double takes
ok you know the main selling feature of eve is that its one universe right, not to mention the whole ton of syncing erros that would come of this, and to be frank the whole though of some one being able to fly to -10 space with no one else around minign 1M megacyte and then login into the main server and dumping it on the market would break the econimy as we no it.

It would actually not be bad to be able to play it locally.. mostly for testing stuff and trying something you cant(or are too afraid of) do. Like many noobs and carebears could go to 0.0 and test the ratting in there and mining and could easily compare the isk income to tq. Ofcourse you could not move anything from the local version to tq. It would be like private sisi.

Okay, tell me this, how much support are the ideas for another server getting? Why do you want to report yourself as an ISK spammer? If you are one, just stop spamming already! |

no for multiple reasons. 1. bad idea, its a MMO, dont know what a mmo is? look it up. 2.eve server side to far too complex to run on one computer. the only reason wow has private servers is because wow worlds are small and simple, eve just has so much going on and so much that has so be maintained all at once. that is why there are no eve private servers out there now.

most of those maintain loads would nearly die worth only one person and most likely that person wouldn't move across to many systems since there isn't any traders moving stuff. also mission generally don't go any more then 5 systems unless its a evil trade mission. if any thing im thinking not unless it built for self hosting and friends to have a some community would and even then most of the challenge is still leached out. aka evil gankers, they all most be concorded

Oh, and there's a singleplayer EVE-like-game here! Leaning curve is just as nasty (almost no tutorials! ahh!) and you can command your own massive fleet/space trade empire without anyone suicide ganking you!
