The EVE API is currently offline while we investigate an issue with the servers. We hope to have it back online in the near future, and will post any further updates here as soon as we have them. |

I fear that CCP doesn't see the API as a critical part of the virtual world and that's why it seems to get treated with lower priority.

Hi all,
The API is back on again now.
The cause of these issues is rooted within a database that runs alongside the API (but not the TQ db), and it has been having issues with a few of its queries taking abnormally long. This has had the unfortunate effect of domino-ing and taking down the API when this happens.
The good news is that we know exactly what has been causing the issue now, so we should be clear.

I am still getting an authentication failure on evemon.

I regenerated a limited api key and I no longer receive the authentication failure.
