The first phase of the Battle went well for our FC; "men we have the right ships, the right numbers, the right POS gunners." The Amar Sniper fleet applied standard pos attack doctine and we counter with similar ant-sniper maneuvers. In short, a fun first round with the slave masters retreating to high sec to reship. Our defensive fleet was limited size but we enjoyed clearing the field.
As anticipated the Amar FC called for a reship and touched his reserve capital fleet communicator and ordered a cyno ready for phase two; expressing his disappointment at the initial attack outcome and reassuring the fleet that an RR BS gang with capital support will might a difference. Of course, the Amar FC called on plex elements to rally with the main fleet to bulk up the support fleet numbers. Unfortunately, the minnie fleet numbers did not improve due to shore leave granted late last night. We worked with the resources at hand.
"Mighty Mouse" did well engaging numerous slavers, forcing warp offs but in the end numbers do count and the medium pos was not designed to hold of an alliance level assault. I very much enjoyed the fight and thank you for the Amar player contribution to my day. Sadly, the ministry of art called me out of system to attend a celebration with my son and I can not report on the second phase of the amar engagement.

The matari defence of their orbital installation was indeed brave but ultimately futile. The initial attack faltered as the heavy ECM defences of the installation locked out vital support ships thus making the fleets position very precarious especially as brave matari carrier pilots and rabid Star Fraction cruisers warped into the midst of the Golden Fleet.
After much warping around moons waiting for our vessels to lose their "criminal" status due to engaging Star Fraction pirates the fleet commander laid a trap. Our heavy battleships stayed behind while our support moved in and tackled those foolishly brave enough to leave the installations shields to engage including two carriers. As the small and heavy support held down their victims our battleships warped back in and engaged. The end result was the destruction of two carriers and ancillary other vessels.
However it was clear that the matari were well versed in countering our long range tactics and so the decision was made to again clear our "criminal" flagging and change ships and modules to counter the matari tactics. While our battleships lay directly off the installations shields and burned guns and ECM batteries with righteous fire our support squadron blockaded stations to prevent matari reinforcements. However the brave matari engaged in their own long range attacks upon our battleships. After some careful manuevering by brave scout pilots our support fleet got a warp in and destroyed and scattered this last piece of matari resistance.
After some further minor actions the installation was stripped bare of defences and went into reinforced mode. At this point the battle had gone on for around 4 hours and as the only real left resistance was that of the piratical Fractionists it was decided that the fleet would return to home systems.
I salute the brave but ultimately futile defence by the matari militia and their allies. I condemn the Fractionist attempt to harass official fleets of the Empire by hiding behind CONCORD laws meant to protect non-hostile pilots. Ultimately I pity the matari for being saddled with "allies" that watch battleships and carriers burn while flying nothing more significant than basic cruisers.
I hope the matari realise how the Fractionists are using them for their own propaganda purposes and reject such "assistance" in future. ---

Of note, I considered it particulary funny when the Minmatar spy on Amarr comms mixed up his push to talk key and started shouting "STAY CALM!!" in a panicking voice whilst everyone was perfectly calm and then tried to overplay it .
