I've always had this problem with nearly every agent I've used (kill agents: int sec/sec/com). The mission types bunch up. I'll get 4 or 5 kill missions in a row then two mordus or blockade followed by a string of delivery missions. Every so often I get the "super delivery" mission. It has always been this way for me. You can usually get out of the delivery string by denying two or three missions in a row. I don't deny them, though. The only reason I run agent missions is for the standing and for the odd implant/named missile launcher/blaster. In the grand scheme of the game it's one of the lesser problems. I'd much rather the "repairmen" focus on lag issues. [insert appropriate smiley here]

Edited by: Dellant on 14/11/2004 22:55:26 I would have thrown this mission back into his face if it wasn't an important one. The Devs forgot to set the ishkur as a COMBAT frigate when determining what type of mission agents dishout when you are aboard certain ships... mildly annoying
and this is my 5th courier mission out of 6 missions in the last 12 hours... something is wrong

People say that mission types are based upon the type of craft you fly. In my experience, this hasn't been the case. When I approach a int sec/sec/com agent after docking in a badger, they still (usually) give me kill missions. I'm not sure "if x then y" it seems like a case of "false cause". I could be wrong, though.

Look on the bright side, it's the weekend (for a little while longer anyway) you have a little time to kill. Just don't go afk while traveling through =/<.4. I got podded twice that way. I'm a little slow sometimes, mom says it's because "daddy smoked weed".

no offence but u need to train up ur skills if ur only getting 50au's from ur probe, or try fitting it with useful stuff
my probe can fit a 1mn MWD AND a cheap named small cap battery, it can keep the MWD going for a good 5 minutes, and i have never had a problem warping any distance(not sure but i remember doing a 102 au jump) |

omber has spoken, this needs a quick fix
Allmus, my skills are fine. Try flying a probe with nothing BUT an MWD and see how far you jump. Then try that over multiple systems. Then put in a cargo expander, k ?

So, try fixing your problem instead of *****ing about it. You could put on a pair of afterburners, or add the extra module. Its not that hard a thing to deal with. And nothing is broken. There are strings of bad luck. People complain about them. Well, they ARE luck, and if you go away for a few days, change agents, whatever, your luck might change. --------------

and seriously, when you are on a tight schedule, and you are looking to outfit your ship in a region with very little to offer, you tend not to be able to fix up your ship the way you want. I didn't mean for my *****ing to make you cry, sorry.

Actually, I've noticed that I'm more likely to be offered courier missions when sitting in my crusader than my geddon. It's so bad that I do missions in the geddon that could be done quicker and more easily in the crusader just to ensure I like the next mission.
I'm also convinced the next mission has been decided before you click 'gimme', so could be influenced by the ship you were in on completion of the last mission.

I would suggest that you are the idiot, Dellant. Harry's answer was written respectfully and is absolutely correct. So what if you got 5 courier missions out of 6 attempted? That's just bad luck.
No fix is needed here, because there is absolutely nothing wrong!
Talk to some of the guys who've really had bad luck. Hundreds of missions with multiple different agents and never seen an implant. It does happen. The game isn't bugged, they're not bugged. It's just bad luck because the mission selection has a random element to it.
Getting the important mission that gives you an implant is random. My old agent in Empire had 6 important mission templates, so I had a 1 in 6 chance of getting the implant mission. After a barren period as far as implants, I got them dropped 3 times in 4 important missions. Just because it's unlikely to happen, doesn't mean it won't.
Please don't post questions on the forums if you don't wish to accept people's answers or suggestions, just because they're not saying what you wish to hear.

Edited by: Balbriggan on 17/11/2004 14:15:56 Dell, you have been playing this game for long enough that you know people occasionally have a run of bad luck. Keep with it and eventually your luck will change.
On the other hand. hitting out at people who provide perfectly sensible solutions is not conduct becoming, so pack it in. Take on board what experienced players have to offer.
Getting back to topic, I run missions for the best Lvl 3 agent the amarr Navy has in Internal Security, and I still get a run of 7-8 courier missions. just do them. I would suggest that you look at your autopilot settings if they are further than 10 jumps away, and make sure that you have it set to shortest route and that you can go through low sec systems.
If the problem of the number of jumps persists, either petition it, or start working for a different agent/corp.

Whether that's a good thing though....
