Sokratesz	Posted - 2009.12.15 20:09:00 - [1] tl;dr, make a small bet, win a lot of ISK Recently, the Tranquility Cluster, the supercomputer that forms EVE On-line's hardware backbone, came very close to a 55K PCU (Peak Concurrent User #), and if you check back on the past records, it is clear that EVE has been reliably growing for many years now, and this of course leads to wild speculation regarding the future. I present to you a small betting scheme that could potentially make you a lot of ISK if you happen to be the one that predicts correctly when the Tranquility cluster hits the magical 100K PCU mark. How it works: - A single bet for a single date costs 25 Million ISK - You can make multiple bets for different dates, but only one bet per date ISK should be sent to this character with your predicted date as reason in the following format: xx-yy-zz where x = DAY y = MONTH Z = YEAR So if your prediction is that the 100K will be reached on december 15th, 2011, your specified reason will be '15-12-11'. Any ISK sent with incorrect amounts or with incorrect date formatting will be treated to a massage and a hot bath. (j/k. you can just eve-mail me a correction if it happens) The Winner Whoever predicts the exact date correctly, or comes closest in case no-one has an exact match, will receive 90% of all placed bets. (I will keep 10% for..err..'administrative cost'). In case multiple people match the final date, the ISK will be evenly split between them. I am of course aware that predicting the final date will become easier as the PCU progresses in the future, so I will set the closing date for betting at the time that the cluster passes the 75K PCU mark. I will get a small website online soon(tm) where people can view their predicted dates to make sure they were processed correctly. - Sok. When will TQ hit the 100K PCU mark? Place a bet!

I did answer that for you, but your logic just seems to fail to comprehend that when I'm dead or when Eve is no more, it would be rather difficult to give people their money back. I don't need to get rich by scamming people any more, and if I wanted to, I would try slightly harder than for 25 mil ISK, so stop whining When will TQ hit the 100K PCU mark? Place a bet!

I would not bet on this. I suggest you try and get a trusted third party inbetween to hold the ISK for you. Or you can keep trying to flip ppl¦s minds in thinking that you are a great guy that only do this for fun and are not inteending to scam them. LOL that someone will rly remember this thread in 1-2 years and more than half of the ppl that might put in ISK will be gone from game or sold chars. Since its taken Eve 5 years to hit that magical 55K mark, and your wager requires the winner to correctly guess when the 100k mark will be achieved. Which may take another 5 years time to pass, and lets face it by then most people will have forgotten or even left by then. You honestly expect people to believe you could resist that nice big, juiccy, delicious, irresistible sum of isk for 5 years. Well then you sir, are telling pokey pies.
