On eve survival, on many missions it says that you can stop your warp quickly, and then be able to warp to a desired distance from target. I am having no luck with this. I have tried the radial menu, the CTRL-SPACE, and hot keyed ship stop command, but I never get the option to warp to XXX distance. Is there a trick to this that I am missing? Thanks for any info.

The trick is to stop your ship before it enters warp the first time. Ctrl-space will do this, as well as clicking the little triangle to the left side of the speed dial. Then you use the right-click in space menu to warp to the mission space.

to clarify, no you cant stop the warp once the drive has spooled up and you are "in warp" but you can stop it before it aligns if you are quick enough UNSC- United Nations Space Command |

appreciate the replies.
I hit warp to encounter. as soon as it says warp drive activated (while aligning), I hit stop (ctrl-space). My ship stops, but I do not get the option to warp to XX distance when i re-initiate warp. What am I doing wrong?

I think you may just be using the wrong command...
In the right click menu, when you've selected the mission beacon, you've got "warp to" and, below that, "warp to at".
Not sure that helps, but check it... Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie |

That trick no longer works. It seems since Dominion missions are all warp to 0, regardless of what distance you try to warp to.
Bug or feature, nobody knows.

Probably not what you're looking for - but some people initiate and abort warp several times in order to drain their capacitor to a level at which they won't be able to warp the whole distance to the selected destination anymore.
This allows to warp arbitrary distances, if you manage to get your capacitor down to the corresponding level.
However, you certainly won't get a precision of a few 100s km using this technique.
