or they could recalculate it so that 500k rats are 0.3% and 1mil rats are 0.45%
would mean most people would get higher sec statuses _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

The 500k should give %0.3 it only makes sense. It makes no sense that you could kill 5 ppl in the game in empire, then spend a year attempting to regain it to 0.0. All you who complain about ppl who attack and declare war against ppl who changed corps and are trying new things out should see my point.

So, lets see.
If these fairly decent sec gains were never intended to be possible, does CCP intend that we have to spend literaly hundreds of hours killing NPC's to get a half decent security status again? If only the 750k BS are giving the 0.4 gain (and from what I can tell, it's actually only the 500k BS which DON'T give 0.4), I would easily slide under -5 if re-calculated.
Two words: **** that.

Edited by: Jebidus Skari on 18/11/2004 17:13:14 Although it's still only a rumour and I appreciate rumours should always be taken with a pinch of salt (even ones started at a CCP event)
It doesn't make any sense to recalculate the sec ratings as those who have used the opportunity to raise their sec rating to reform will keep it there after the bonus is fixed and those who intend keeping on pirating/murdering in low sec empire will lose their sec in 0.234secs and be stuck again (what do they care if CCP recalc the sec ratings).
All this bug has done has benefited people who intend to change their style of gameplay, something that should be possible but hasn't been since the removal of Concord agents (or the 0.1 sec increase per day).
An official word on this would be desirable so I know whether to keep my grubby paws of stray ships in Empire

Well i have a mail from a dev stating the sec gain's per ship
Unless they stated it as 'exploit' i don't see how they could possibly change everyones sec status back to what it was, apart from the fact it would take them forever to go through each character.
Anyway, if they did try to do that they wouldn't have a leg to stand on

only -3.1 to -1.3 for me. Just passive NPCing really, was there for the ISK potential, but i don't want to lose my shiny wanted sign...

So be on your toes if in Empire when that happens, if it happens.
If they do that, I'll start playing something else. For obvious reasons. -- Stories: #1 --

The sec gain given by npc's isn't enough, standard. 0.045% for a 1.5m rat?
Fair enough, 0.4 probably is too high - somewhere in the middle would be good.

Are there any new ways to get your sec status back up since exodus, or is it still just killing npc's?

Edited by: Nyk0n on 26/11/2004 22:15:13 Grats to every1 that got sec back up, u been traped at heavy -sec 4 to long.
BUT
Gaining security should take time imo, goin from -10 to 0 in 3-4 days is daft. The correct increase thats sposed to be given at mo is fine.
Sec hits have always been to high, and the old system of a .1 a day increase was better than how it is now, u could return to normal over time but not get any "freebie" sec status by a npc "error".
A system which gives you a sec increase per day depending on how low you actully are would be a possable idea, at -10 u would gain .5 at -8 .3 intill hitting maybe -3 where it would go up at .1 till 0
U should have to work at keeping -10 just as you should have to work at obtaining +5
I think there should be a carrot dangleing awaiting peeps that actully hit eiather of the scale as well.
Just my 2 isk.......
