I wonder who will get the first Zephyr killmail. On another note, I also have an annoying sig.

LOL
There are Zephs on contract for 100,000,000 already. Is it me, or is this not likely to be your best ever purchase, given that everyone has one for free? (actually, I've got 3!).
Anyone want to buy some melted snowballs?

I have a feeling that in the later months, some people may actually buy those for that much.

"Set sail for fail!"
Much appreciated CCP. Merry Christmas.
P.S. Love the way the sails and control cables float and flex with respect to one another. Really impressive. =)

Doesn't matter. There is only one Zephyr, but the launchers are infinite.

Thanks mom and dad...it's a really cool looking ship.
Could someone tell me what other "gifts" (ships only) CCP has given in the past?
I'd like to collect them. ___________________________________________________ Idea: Train 3 alts at the same time solution. |

Thanks for the free ship i shall park it next to my interbus shuttle, shame the ship itself isn't that great, needs either a scanning bonus or the ability to fit a cloak to be actually useful because without either it'll get probed out by players and popped or never actually manage to pinpoints anything other than anoms :( Rally Against Evil Site |

Well its packs only to 500m and Sleepers ignore it. So there may be uses...maybe as bait or recon at a Sleeper site? Really though, it can't be too good or it would imbalance the game.
Anyway, I think it looks really cool so thanks CCP.

Yes, thanks for the wonderful ship. Quite possibly the best looking ship design in the game - very well done.

Good luck.
Also, confirming the ship is epic, with solar wind playing with its black sails and all. I wish i could mount a couple of autocannons on the sides of those engine thingies, but then the critical mass of awesomeness would probably crash the node ____________________________________________________________________ Pesets - Russian for 'polar wolf'. It's beautiful. But where's my pod go? This ship has less mass than an Einjerji by a factor of 2 and the Einherji needs a ****pit!

Thats exactly what i thought.
Also, "Super-light sails allow it to ride the torrents of photons streaming through space"
So it flies on light? ---------------------------

Solar Sails aren't a new idea - also have been used in a lot of science fiction:

Pod racer? Star Wars prequels? Geez… kids these days.
I recall these ships popping up in 1950s literature, and they're probably older than that. The reason anything in Star Wars works is because it's derivative – callbacks make us feel comfy.
(That said, yes, the Tron solar ship was my first association as well.) ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

To be honest it looks to me to be a conglomeration of propulsion systems; the main solar-sails, the Pod's warp drive AND what I would say would be some sort of Ion drive (The ring which rotates at the rear of the ship could serve to accelerate ions).
I like it LOTS. ______________________________________________

Yeah but a photon is a packet of light. The whole concept is a bit silly. But then again, EVE > Physics. ---------------------------

As a packet of light, it sill has momentum and energy, both of which can be harnessed. It's funny how, when EVE = Physics for once, people don't buy it… ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |
