Almost a foot snow fell here this morning (eastern netherlands), and while that may not be much compared to some other areas of the world it certainly is a novelty here.
Just had to go pick up my brother from soccer training and afterwards found a large empty parking lot...let's say that even with winter-tyres on it made for a few nice exercises in 'lets see how far we can push the ABS'

Yep, same here in the UK. Loads of snow equals loads of fun with my mates car without any kind of ABS. Never wheelspun so much in my life.

I had planned to drive from side of the Netherlands to the other sometime today, but I think I'll stay put right here next to the German border. Don't want to arrive at my destination after driving sideways 50% of the time.
Trains are a disaster too now, nationwide. Know someone who was stuck in Alkmaar for over an hour because there were literally no trains going anywhere.

Gah snow. Its been snowing here for the last week non-stop. Certainly one thing I haven't missed in the past few years.

another 'yay snow' here from Groningen (northeast netherlands as well), looking at my undisturbed back yard i'd say we're up to half a metre now since thursday here :)

Damn, here in the east of Gelderland we're only at about 15 to 25 cm. With more on its way. 1 foot of snow, here we come.

We just got 18 inches (45cm) of snow last night in Connecticut (east coast US). At one point it was snowing 3 inches an hour. sucked to have to dig out the driveway but you gotta love a Subaru WRX for playing in empty parking lots!!!

this night we're expecting snow from 300m heights and up.
bare in mind that this is Portugal. Snow beyond the deep north and the central mountain range is very, very rare.

North-Holland 'ere! Guesstimation on the height of the snow is around.. 5-15 centimetres because it highly depends between unused snow and used/walked on snow

That happens to trains in the UK even without snow.
On another note being first in line behind a double decker bus that got stuck going up a hill and started to slide back down again was ****ing terrifying when there's about 30 other cars behind you who refuse to GTF out of the way

global warming scam aside, warmer global temperatures affects the gulf stream, which keeps the northern hemisphere warmer, if it dies, we get colder thanks to global warming.
