I'm a brand new CEO and we're having our first mining op coming up in a few days. And I was wondering how you divide your earnings among the people who participate in your mining ops. Our corp holds a 0% tax rate and our only source of income will be coming from these ops. I need to know what % of the isk earned should go to the corp and what % should be divided equally among the miners. Also, how would you decide how much to give to people who left early or arrived late. Do I take in account their ship type and how much ore they pull in?
Some advice would be greatly appreciated!

Write an excel spreadsheet that takes how many hours they worked and determines percentage of the whole time worked.
Then, divide out the shares as in (A) worked 50 hours, (B) worked 25 hours and (C)worked 25 hours.
We can tell that out of the whole week/whatever, there have been 100 hours worked, and (A) is 50% of that, (B) is 25%, and (C) is 25%.
First, you skim your amount of corp money off, 2.5-7.5 is a good amount, that leaves you with 92.5% to divide, 50% of it goes to (A), 25% to (B) and 25%(C)
I did that when i ran mining ops, but I'm not 100% sure thats the exact way to do it. IIRC it works.

General consensus is that easy = better.
Easy splits based on time without too much worrying about what ships and what lasers people have.

I have build a corp mining sheet to calculate this. Its true that mining time is important, but i also think ship type is just as important. because i donĘt think its fair if a guy mining in a Imicus should get the same amount of isk/minerals as a guy who mined just as long in a Hulk. So my sheet take both time and ship type in to account. try it out here ------- Ore & Ice Mining T1 & Capital & Rig Production POS Fueling and Reaction Minerals to Ore calculator |

Since Dominion came out this month.. fleets can have a "loot log" I think that's what its called. So if you have an orca you can keep track of who drops what in the corp hanger. Don't know if it works if the orca pilot pulls in jet cans with a tractor beam though.

Better payoff for the better ships also encourages younger pilots (if you have any) to get into that ship fast aswell instead of training whatever else. Don't just count the heads involved and give everybody the same. If you want to make donations to your new players, make them, but let them see how awesome fast a Hulk mines, before. |

Otherwise using the mentioned spread sheets work fine, and it depends on your corp and how many players you have showing up, last night was 3 of us and 6 hulks between us we just went 3 ways cause it works, (I myself bring 3 hulks). As ceo you have to decide how you are going to run your corp and set the standard.

I turn up to ops with my Orca and Hulk pilot, invite a bunch of folks along. They might turn up in a hauler, frigate, cruiser or a Hulk that is better equipped and skilled than my own. In the end we simply divide the take evenly amongst the folks who attended.
The people in frigates have the benefit of much more cash in their pockets to fund their training for further mining ops. The people in Hulks have the bonus of the Orca in the first place. The people in haulers get paid fairly for the work they're doing.
Takes a lot of hassle out of the administration when everyone is happy to agree on a simple split. Then you can just get on with the process of finding belts to mine and chatting about important subjects such as whether Britney sounds better on stage or on CD.
For a corp operation, just count the corp as a ghost person (ie: split the take by N+1, corp gets 1 share).
